    General Discussion Thread 11.04.2025

‘It will likely be a long road ahead’: Fans rally as Aussie music legend faces health battle

Glad you’re okay Veggie. One of my dear friends had a stroke a few weeks ago which affected her left side but she’s recovering well & is back home, living alone & with a bit of help is managing rather well. At almost 95 she’s a real “energiser bunny”. Pity she’s not computer literate or she’keep...

My brother & son have both seen their super balances drop significantly but ours, which is very low risk is okay so far. I’m not checking very much as I can’t do anything about it. My son has time for things to recover, my brother is getting close to retirement age so is a bit more concerned. We...

'One of my heroes': Music fans mourn as 70s rock star dies before major tour

While I’m unfamiliar with this band, I find it sad when people pass away without reaching old age. Dementia is a terrible disease because you’ve usually lost the person before they actually die.

Australian MMA coach lands in US prison due to Trump’s policy changes

Sounds like a good reason to never travel to the USA. The country appears to be turning into a complete basket case, with even a lot of staunch MAGA people becoming disillusioned, especially after losing their employment.

Australia farewells reformist leader (86) and fashion trailblazer (73)

Tony Rundle was a rather progressive, positive Premier for Tasmania. I didn’t always agree with all of his decisions but that’s how it goes. He will leave a big hole in a lot of people’s lives.

I’m 72 & like to think that I still resemble my younger self and this lady still looks great. How many ‘stars’ are recognisable without the makeup used in films & stage shows? It bewilders me why some fans are always amazed!
