'We’re all heartbroken': Australia mourns legendary athlete and dedicated police officer lost too soon

No. I'm not mourning them. I only mourn for people I know, respect, love not for people I have never heard of.

Aussies furious as social media giant blocks vital information about incoming threat

I have had the same thing happen to me. I was censored for sharing a post & my post was removed, but the original post was still circulating apparently without a problem.

'We’re all heartbroken': Australia mourns legendary athlete and dedicated police officer lost too soon

I totally agree. I don't mourn over every person who dies in Australia (or anywhere else in the world for that matter). I mourn when those I love & care for pass away. It takes a lot from a person to mourn for someone & no one has the energy to expend on people unknown to them.

Veterinarians warn about this possible virus 'hopping around' Australia soon! What is it for?

The article says this virus is highly contagious & can be transmitted to pets through insect bites. I presume that the insect bites would include mosquitoes. So, are our dogs & cats safe to be outside during the time when mozzies are active? If they are at risk, is there something we can do...

‘We’re not being provided with a basic human need’: Australians left high and dry

If you want to eat then farmers need to build in area without "scheme" water (whatever that is) unless you want hundreds or thousands of sheep and cattle in the property behind you. Or maybe acres of wheat behind your property. These are the reasons farmers are a long way from suburbia. These...

‘We’re not being provided with a basic human need’: Australians left high and dry

One very good reason is the cost involved in installing the pipes to farming properties where even many of their homes are 1-2 kms from the road (some even further than that) & the properties are many kms apart. This is an expense which country councils cannot bear or they would have to raise...

‘We’re not being provided with a basic human need’: Australians left high and dry

Everyone has to pay for their water whether it's on tap or to refill a tank which has gone dry. I am happy for the farmers who have tanks/dams & can use this water freely most of the time but in dry times they have to join the rest of us & pay for their water. Flushing toilets are not an...

Senior in care loses thousands of dollars to an unexpected robber. Here's how you can protect yourself

It is so true that we hear about the bad ones but that's what makes me really scared about having to have someone come to my home to do the cleaning in the near future. How do I know what that person is up to in my bedroom where I can't see her? I have heard so many stories of people losing...

Federal court decision reveals truth as favourite Aussie fashion brand faces collapse

I have never bought the latest fashion but I do have to wear clothes if I am not to be arrested when I go shopping. Thus, Millers was a long-time go-to shop because of the good quality & low prices. However, in recent times, the quality has gone down so far that in the last 12 months I bought...

Would you call your mum an ‘inseminated person’? New proposal sparks debate

If a woman is to be called an "inseminated person" why isn't a man called the "inseminating person"? Both equally stupid.

Millions set to benefit from a major mobile coverage upgrade—are you one of them?

Part of the route I have to travel to go shopping has no mobile coverage. At one time I saw the start of a bushfire & tried to ring 000 without success. I kept the phone on the seat beside me & just kept dialling until I reached the next town & got through. In the meantime the fire had taken...

Millions set to benefit from a major mobile coverage upgrade—are you one of them?

Where do you find the public pay phones which, according to the article, are mandated for all areas? I haven't seen one in years as they were all removed in my area presumably either because they weren't ued or because of vandalism.

'Traumatising': Couple shares chilling experience after their seatmate passed away mid-flight

Since when is QantAs (not Us) responsible for what happens on another airline? Apart from that, where did you get your information that Qantas arranged this flight (whatever that means)?

Are you worried about the surge of snake bite incidents? Here's what to do, according to experts

Please tell me how you find a professional snake catcher. We don't have telephone books any more so can't look there for their contact number. Anyway, by the time you found a contact for a snake catcher, rang him, gave your address, he got into his car & drove maybe an hour to get to you, the...

Businesses urgently remove this common product, and you should be concerned

I have never used hand sanitisers as I guessed there was something like alcohol in them & that would dry your hands something terrible. Need lots of hand cream to moisten them again after using sanitiser.

Experts reveal new coronavirus strain, sparking global pandemic fears

I object to being called a sheep just because I will gladly be vaccinated against any bug which might make me really ill or even kill me. For those who want to be a huge bug walking around trying to kill me, please stay at home - or, better still, go to the centre of the Simpson Desert & stay...
