Shocking Price Difference: Why Vegemite Is Now Cheaper in England Than in Its Home Country Australia!

I think I only buy Arnotts biscuits for the trip down 'memory lane'. My Dad's favourites were Honey Jumbles and Spicy Fruit Rolls. My godmother's were Venetian Cookies.

This Surprising Habit, Not Price, Keeps Aussie Shoppers Loyal to Big Supermarkets – Are You One of Them?

I've found a lot of Coles own brands to be superior to the brand label products, especially in dairy and bakery.

It's also getting really hard to find Spicey Fruit Rolls. Only IGA seem to keep them now.

Shocking Price Difference: Why Vegemite Is Now Cheaper in England Than in Its Home Country Australia!

Arnotts has admitted to discontinuing Honey Jumbles but I haven't heard the the other 2 had gone.

This Surprising Habit, Not Price, Keeps Aussie Shoppers Loyal to Big Supermarkets – Are You One of Them?

If you try Coles own brand products they are often superior to the brand label ones, eg western star spreadable and devondale are double the price and pretty much the same as the Coles spreadable which comes in a larger size. Coles brand double thick cream is the best of them all and all of...

This Surprising Habit, Not Price, Keeps Aussie Shoppers Loyal to Big Supermarkets – Are You One of Them?

You've got that right. I often joke about never paying full price for anything. It's especially easy with junk food, it's always on special somewhere.

I get you, but being time-poor is also a contributing factor for the youngsters I was referring to. Including shift working parents etc.

Shocking Price Difference: Why Vegemite Is Now Cheaper in England Than in Its Home Country Australia!

It's not only Vegemite. Apparently you can buy Australian lamb cheaper in Canada than you can in Australia. I wonder what else is happening? Looks like the only lovers in Australia are the consumers and the farmers.

Invest Just $10k in Your Home and You Could See a Staggering $200k Return—Find Out How!

I find it best to just move out, leave the place clean, tidy and empty. It gives potential buyers the ability to walk through and imagine their own choices, family and dreams filling the empty spaces. Most moving companies can store your possessions while you settle on a property elsewhere.

Thousands of Aussies warned as scammers implement new scam

I have a nephew who takes these calls as a challenge to see how much of the callers time he can waste. He has no online banking, when he gets paid he immediately withdraws cash, leaving nothing to steal and anything he can't buy with cash, he doesn't want. He's been known to string these...

This Surprising Habit, Not Price, Keeps Aussie Shoppers Loyal to Big Supermarkets – Are You One of Them?

I have no loyalty to any of the supermarkets. What I do is sit down with all the catalogues, on the phone, when they come out. The half price specials are first, unfortunately they consist of mainly junk food and non-essentials. Anything that I use I add to my shopping list. If something has a...

‘Dead zone’: Is this iconic Aussie establishment at risk of closure?

Do you remember visiting the Argyle Art Centre, I think it was called? Where you could buy hand made lollies, candles, soaps and a variety of 'hippy gear'?

‘Dead zone’: Is this iconic Aussie establishment at risk of closure?

Most of us who have wonderful memories of the rocks district can no longer afford to enjoy the area and its facilities. The "Baby Boomer" richness is a myth. We grew up when you spent what you could afford and still paid off your mortgage whilst only earning a hundred bucks a week and the...

‘Dead zone’: Is this iconic Aussie establishment at risk of closure?

Agree. If Sydney is so flaming wonderful, why did more than 95,000 move to the Shoalhaven during Covid? Unfortunately they didn't bring infrastructure with them.
