    Shocking rideshare rip-off: Aussie woman's 6-minute trip costs $170!

I don't use cards to pay for anything. There are some stores I have walked out of when the salesperson has informed of a no cash policy. A while ago, we were told to make ATM withdrawals on Tuesdays. I'm still doing it. Is this still a thing or has everyone given up?

Uber incident leaves passenger gobsmacked over backseat ‘mess’

Users would be wise to take pictures of the space they sat in to show that they left it clean. Might be good to inform the driver they've done this to ensures/he knows that evidence exists.

Odd disappearance of elderly couple in Australian outback sparks urgent search and speculation

The word that the 'was' is referring to is 'couple'. The word 'couple' refers to two but it is singular. So, 'the couple was travelling' is correct.

New cameras catch thousands and issue $1.7 million driving fines in one week

I agree totally. Many eScooter riders I've seen seem to think they are not bound by any rules. No helmets, swerving as they go, speeding and of course as you pointed out, phones.

Famous cookie company plans launch in Down Under after ‘straight-up fraud’ sets people ablaze

I'm doing my bit. I have never had a bet on a horse or any other racing event for that matter. The last money spent on a celebrity was for Sherbet in the 70s and haven't been on a ship, ever (and Covid hasn't made cruising appealing).

New cameras catch thousands and issue $1.7 million driving fines in one week

Looking at the Speedo is necessary, otherwise how will you know that you're within the posted speed limit? It shouldn't be distracting. It's in front of you and you're not reading it or unduly focussed on it for long. It's a glance to just see the speed you're doing.

New cameras catch thousands and issue $1.7 million driving fines in one week

I think with a phone, the distraction COULD BE greater because your focus may shift to the conversation and remove you from the focus on navigating in traffic/driving 🤔.

Famous cookie company plans launch in Down Under after ‘straight-up fraud’ sets people ablaze

Exactly what we need: 1. Financially, during a cost of living crisis period; and 2. Personally, to provide us with another collection of sugary, sweet goods the likes of which we are constantly being warned not to eat.

This 'hidden' secret behind one ute is driving motorists wild. What could it be?

Yes, so many drivers exceed the posted limit. When I'm on the 8 kilometre stretch of the M1 at Currumbin (the roadworks) the speed there has been 80kmph and 60 kmph for years. But countless drivers pass me like I'm standing still. On other parts (of the M1), idiot speedsters approach from...

This 'hidden' secret behind one ute is driving motorists wild. What could it be?

Your choice, but if you get booked because your Speedo is out, you'll need to pay the fine, not KIA 😟

This 'hidden' secret behind one ute is driving motorists wild. What could it be?

Isn't a Speedo check a standard part of a car service?

Radio broadcaster shakes things up with surprise announcement

I know that John Laws is known for his no-nonsense attitude but I remember listening to him one morning about 50 years ago. A caller indicated he was ending it all. John was able to get a location and called Police, he told police he'd pay damage costs and to break the door down to get to...

Local Greek cafe shuts down after six decades of service

Yes, but when a person 'bites the dust' s/he is associated with a negative occurrence/failure. Please see attachment. Closing the bakery doors after 60 years of providing much loved treats to Melbourne based customers is an impressive achievement and could not be any means be viewed as a...
