Its like many other products available for almost any use, people do not like it or its potential failings so rather than look at its benefits they decide it must be banned. Would it not be more productive if the potential users were educated so that they still have the benefits of said product...
Possibly the end users could take some responsibility in the use of these devices to prevent unintentional results, after all they are the ones choosing to use them. As for animals being subject to a slow and painful death if they were checked on a regular basis that issue could be overcome.
I do not believe morals have anything to do with it but I would believe that it is what my mother would have said "poor form" I would believe unless you are either a friend or relative it should be hands off,even then it would probably be appropriate to wait for an invitation.
