Scientists warn: These foods pose dangers similar to smoking—find out why

I agree, this ain't Brazil. I do distrust some UPF's manufactured here in Australia however. Cutting costs while just maintaining base levels of standards would be a priority for them. 🤑 So I think good nutrition is being leached out of some foods, while the more popular feelgoods are inserted...

Woolworths urges shoppers to stay calm amid eggs-asperating store policy

Yep, I opened the link. Thing is I'm not sure you did. Nothing in the article about a sheep foetus. All I could see was work being done to ensure a vaccine was safe to use on Australian animals. That and a raft of other important initiatives being undertaken. Seems that good preparation...

Energy retailer fined $82,500 amid soaring electricity prices

Phantom55, I agree. For me it was like being blindfolded about when to use electricity and I think this is the key to getting lower bills when using the high drawing devices. There is a mob called Amber that I switched to and am currently trialling. It uses a totally different business model to...

Organisation urges government to make legislation against text scammers mandatory

This Register is merely another step in the waltz between scammers and the authorities. It's a positive step and a good one, but the challenges remain. People should not take this to mean sms text messages will be legit as a consequence of this initiative. That in itself could see more success...

Half a million shocked: Is this bizarre 'psychopath' flight habit of a famous Australian TV star affecting you?

Wondered that myself until read it was from an earlier unrelated Instgram post. I've noticed a lot of articles from various sources put up photos of people it's talking about, but the photo is unrelated to that article.

Hot water bottle danger: A burn victim's shocking revelation could save your skin!

"What measures do you take to ensure they are safe to use?" The measure of risk elimination. Use a wheat (heat) bag instead.

See the shocking mistake an Uber driver made with groceries worth $100 – Could this happen to your next order?

Never had any major issue with food delivery in the past decade. I have always gone by 3 of the 4 tips in the article to mitigate risks. I can imagine some addresses would create challenges for delivery people. Biggest problem for me has only ever been the odd missing item. Simple process to...

This is a worthwhile home grown cause that I have reason to support. One doesn't have to spend big amounts. I'm supporting @ $10 per lottery.

Winds of change: Prince William contemplates radical overhaul of British Monarchy

Huh, I would abstain or find another. I could behave in a supercilious manner and suggest they could both have hugged their sons more than that mentioned, but I can't. As a tree hugger, Charlie is the Douglas fir of the UK tree world, although an unlikely venue for his final chosen species the...

Banking on trouble: Westpac faces backlash over abrupt remote branch closure

I once spoke to a Coles honcho about the reason for closing a store. His response was that it had the worst shoplifting record in the state. I think there were other reasons as well, but it sounds like this was one of them. They didn't close all stores though, even though have the potential for...

Winds of change: Prince William contemplates radical overhaul of British Monarchy

There is no doubt that life for the two boys growing into men would have had challenges/pressures that don't exist in the a normal world. It is true I am biased towards Harry. The weak link is Charles, prior to his unfortunate illness, I mean. I just don't think that either Charles, nor William...

Winds of change: Prince William contemplates radical overhaul of British Monarchy

Princess Anne, in a TV interview, expressed scepticism about the ‘slimmed down’ approach, stating, ‘Well, I think the “slimmed down” was said in a day when there were a few more people around.’ ‘It doesn’t sound like a good idea from where I’m standing, I would say. (Sounds like something...

Banking on trouble: Westpac faces backlash over abrupt remote branch closure

There are clear hints in the article that this was a set of circumstances unique to Tennant Creek. It's not difficult to read between the liners and see safety for staff was one of the considerations as well as having the premises and atm smashed up. More to this than meets the eye I think...

Aussie state drives green: Wheels of change roll out with new registration system

Ricdel, thanks. Your post, about most paying less, gave me cause to look again at my maths. There isn't a lot in it, but a closer look at the article suggests the weekly increase for a 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is around $2.30 per week and for the 2023 Ford Ranger, an increase of just under...

Aussie state drives green: Wheels of change roll out with new registration system

If you don't have a V6 or V8, the increase appears to be roughly $0.38c per week for most. The article also mentions some EV's looking at increases in rego of about $7.23 per week. Doesn't seem like too big a deal for most with petrol or diesel (like me).

You won’t believe what my neighbor did—Is this shocking ‘unAustralian’ act becoming the new normal?

Case of the zactlys. Well spotted. 💯% not a median strip. Some call it a nature strip or a grass strip. Most call it a verge.

You won’t believe what my neighbor did—Is this shocking ‘unAustralian’ act becoming the new normal?

When I used to mow the neighbours small bit, I wasn't thinking about him, me nor the mower. I only ever thought about how it would look visually. To leave it uncut looks bloody awful, jobs not done. It used to be that simple.
