Prisoner and Neighbours Floor Manager Ray Lindsay passes away

He was not even a cast member, so only a few people would have known who he was or what his connection with those 2 shows were. I watched Prisoner so will I get a write up on SDC - probably not because I never watched one episode of Neighbours. Even so, sad for his family and friends.

Hate parking headaches? State government axes controversial parking measure

The letter gives you their website information. I went on and it showed 4 or 5 photos taken by the inspector clearly showing several views of the vehicle (including the interior) as well as parking instruction signs. Everything was very clear, except for one minor detail. The only similarity...

Hate parking headaches? State government axes controversial parking measure

I got hit with one of these magically appearing in my letter box one day. It stunned me as to how quick they had gotten it to me as I had unusually been in the general area only the day prior, and hadn't parked anywhere. Finally after stressing for a while reread the thing. Ah, I could go and...

Hot cross buns taste test: Find out which flavour reigns supreme!

Only ever traditional. The others are never going to be "Hot Cross Buns". Maybe just call the others Easter Buns.

Meta platforms experience widespread outage and login issues—were you affected?

Are you back on yet? I'm not. Even their reset password is stuffed - it keeps sending me the same code to enter each time I apply but when entered it says I have entered the wrong code.

Don't say this word if you're in Australia: 'I thought that was fine'

Definitely a load of rubbish. Never heard that that word was offensive. Next thing we'll be being told please and thank you will be considered offensive too. I think I should just keep my mouth shut 100% of the time..

Woman exposes shopper's ‘disgusting behaviour’ in shopping centre car park

I do not find this to be "disgusting behaviour", I would rather call it negligent behaviour. Disgusting would be more like the owner actually squatting beside the car and doing her own "business" there.

Meta platforms experience widespread outage and login issues—were you affected?

7pm and I am still out of Fb. I didn't realize there was an outage of that degree, it said I had entered the wrong password.

Bunnings employee exposes mistreatment of workers by sexist customers

I wonder if she complains when a gentleman buys her dinner.

Woolworths deli counter rant sparks heated debate—whose side are you on?

Ha! Let's go back to trading Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9 to 12 (or was it 1?) and absolutely nothing open on Sundays (including entertainment and petrol stations). Oh I forgot no late night Thursdays either. That's when families were families. Dad would knock-off at 5, travel home...

Save big on fuel costs: State government unveils exclusive discount for Seniors Card holders

Ooooh, lucky South Australians!!! Up to 60 cents a day saving on probably less than a third of a tank of petrol. I find that most places that have 4cents discount are more expensive in any case, so don't use them.

ANZ secretly phases out cash services from several branches

The definition of a bank is "a bank is a financial institution licensed to receive deposits and make loans. " If they no longer deal with cash, can they still be called a bank? I think it might be time to go back to keeping our money under the mattress, with them not giving us interest on our...

    Woolworths trials new self-serve checkouts

I had a good laugh in K-Mart last week. Walked passed the long queue waiting for the self service, with my items, over to the single cashier standing amongst all the unopened registers. Such a lovely, pleasant young girl. Anyway, all rung up, change put away, and walked back passed the queue...

    Woolworths trials new self-serve checkouts

It doesn't matter how many "new self-service systems" they trial/bring in, I WILL NOT use them. I find myself, more and more often, using the little local grocer. Their prices may be a little higher here and there but considering the 17km drive to the closest supermarket, and the same back, it...

Australia Post stamps to cost more as living expenses soar

A few months ago I had to send a card from Sydney to Townsville. It ended up taking over 2 weeks. It's no wonder we do it mostly electronically these days.

Beloved Wimbledon referee Alan Mills (88) and notorious ex-police Roger Rogerson (83) pass away

Long Bay does have a ward at the hospital. He was not in the general hospital, he therefore really did die still in prison. Not that I am honestly concerned, he is finally dead and that should be considered a good outcome.

JB Hi-Fi faces class action lawsuit for allegedly tricking customers into paying more

Years back I worked for a company who owned the rights to the extended warranties on a particular product (I honestly don't know if I worded that correctly). Anyway, in the 12months I was there and receiving multiple claims daily, I never saw any claim approved.
