Australia’s inflation crisis captured in one 'shocking' supermarket photo

Yes, the price is ridiculous, almost as ridiculous as considering potato chips as a "staple".

What’s wrong with this photo of cucumbers wrapped in plastic, and why are Woolworths customers angry about it?

We used to get our cucumbers direct from the grower and they were the ones who were doing the shrink-wrapping, NOT Woolies. Note there is usually a sticker on the shrink-wrap indicating who the producer is. Packaging is done by the producer, not the seller.

Are you guilty of these six microwave cleaning mistakes? Pros reveal their secrets!

My new one doesn't have a turntable either but it seems to work well without one. It is weird though, because when you look at it, you immediately think something is wrong, and then you remember...

"How do you plan to apply this newfound knowledge to effectively clean and maintain your microwave, guaranteeing its longevity and optimal performance?" Well, speaking of longevity, what I want to know is why my first microwave oven lasted over 30 years, but the last three replacements have...

Travel horror story! Jetstar passengers reveal shocking details of their 'nightmare flight'

I think the fact that she "fully collapsed" as she handed over her boarding pass indicates that the airline staff were aware that she was ill and should never have allowed her on the flight. The fault is definitely with the airline as well as with the passenger.

Travel horror story! Jetstar passengers reveal shocking details of their 'nightmare flight'

This is what happens when people are self-centred and only concerned with their own wants and needs. No consideration at all for other people. Totally focused on their own desire to travel. This is why diseases like Covid and the flu spread - because people who are sick won't stay home and...

'Rich' Australians targeted by threatening letters

I started my adult life with absolutely nothing. Everything I have, I worked hard for it for decades. I have never received a single penny from government benefits - no first home buyers scheme, no child endowment, no unemployment or other pension. Now that I am retired I have to rely on my...

NT family's ‘terrifying’ close encounter with croc amid fishing trip

Sorry but you are incorrect. The crocs at Cahill's crossing are saltwater crocs and, in fact, it is a place with one of the highest densities of saltwater crocodiles in the world. There have been several fatalities in the area so far, including fisherman, children, photographers, and backpackers.

'Cookie Monster' killer begs for mercy after poisoning husband with deadly drug-infused biscuits

"The police won’t do anything about it until there has been a fatality." Not even then!

NT family's ‘terrifying’ close encounter with croc amid fishing trip

When we were in the NT, we saw people on Cahill's Crossing (crosses the East Alligator River) fishing knee-deep in the water, with small children in tow and with numerous visible crocodiles just a few metres away. Talk about asking for trouble. But somehow their lack of commonsense will be...

What’s a childhood memory that got you into big trouble with your parents?

My best friend came from a family of 5 - 2 girls and 3 boys. Their mother would wash their mouths out with soap if they swore. We girls did not swear but every time the boys did, his sisters would dob so that we could watch the mouth-washing process. I was quite morbidly fascinated by this as...

What’s something embarrassing that you did on a first date?

You're sweet - and you're quite right. I found out later that he only took me out to make his ex-girlfriend jealous (she had dumped him). When I ran across him again at the school, I wondered what I ever saw in him.

What’s a childhood memory that got you into big trouble with your parents?

My mum spent hours sewing a lovely pink dress for me which I promptly ruined by climbing up into my friend's mulberry tree where we feasted. Mum was not impressed with my mulberry-stained dress.

What’s something embarrassing that you did on a first date?

When I was 17 years old I went out with a gorgeous guy I'd had a crush on for ages. He took me to a nice restaurant and halfway through the meal I had to excuse myself to go to the loo. I pushed the door open, walked into an ante-chamber, then pushed another door open to enter the loo. The...

What’s a childhood memory that got you into big trouble with your parents?

Beware of stealing lollies! During the war years, my grandmother kept chocolate laxatives hidden in her wardrobe and she noticed a significant reduction in the amount. She asked all four of her children which of them had taken her chocolates and all strenuously denied it. "Never mind", said...
