Things to have in place important

If you use an online password manager, with most of them you can enter the details of family members you wish to give access to your passwords if you die or are incapacitated. I'm not sure, but you may even be able to put this information in your will.

Things to have in place important

You do need probate if the person is in Aged Care, they require it for refunding the bond that was paid going in to Aged Care. Also make sure you appoint an Executor. Needs to be a capable person that you trust will do the right thing in dispersing your estate. Also ask the person (usually a...

Heinz put an end to the tomato sauce storage debate—here's their verdict!

I guess I wouldn't be the best one to ask, because strangely enough I keep tomato sauce, barbecue sauce and soy sauce in the pantry, but mustard, relish, pickles, oyster sauce and jam are in the fridge! I know my Mum used to keep all sauces and jams in the pantry, fridges were smaller back then!

Clare Nowland's loved ones take legal action against NSW government following fatal Tasering

I totally agree. My Mum had dementia too and was in Aged Care, thankfully the staff always treated her gently and patiently. Mum used to become very confused and this could cause her to be agitated. That poor lady must have been terrified, surrounded by big, burly police in uniforms.

Rock legend Jimmy Barnes' wife falls victim to pickpockets in Europe

I went to Europe with 4 other young teachers in 1985 and we had one robbery and one attempted robbery! At Warsaw train station we were robbed by a very efficient group of gypsies, and my friend had her handbag taken. It contained her passport among other valuables, and we were on a train heading...

Cruel Frank Green scam websites target Aussies

Yes, there were quite a few strange ads on Facebook last year about Maggie Beer, implying that something awful had happened to her. I've met Maggie and am a bit of a fan, so stupidly clicked on the link and it went to a website selling diet products, supposedly promoted by Maggie Beer! It was...

Is this 'viral' cleaning product that Woolworths just started stocking REALLY the best in Australia?

I thought it was pretty useless. It certainly did not remove the soap scum from my shower screens. Also didn't remove marks from the carpet. It felt like I was just using water. It's expensive too. The owners of the company must be raking in the dollars, it wouldn't cost much to make!

Antiques and collectibles: The unexpected 'safety net' in times of rising living costs

Hi Suzanne, I love antiques and have a little experience buying and selling. If your blue and white china jug is genuine vintage Blue Cornishware by T.G. Green, they are quite collectable, but probably only worth about $25 in today's market. If the telephone is genuine vintage bakelite, it might...

Beware! New house number scam threatens Aussie residents

We had our numbers painted a few months ago. A man came to the door, said he was painting house numbers on the kerb, in two places for $20. Ours hadn't been done for over 20 years and had worn off, so I said yes. He explained how he does them, a black number on a white square background. He...

This vacuum from Bunnings is all the rage right now—here's why!

My Dyson's battery dies after 10 minutes, and it takes hours to recharge! Never again, I'll stick to corded vacuum cleaners, even if they are heavy and awkward.

Discover the drug-free 'sea band' that travellers and pregnant women swear by to banish sea, motion, and even morning sickness instantly!

I suffer badly from motion sickness, especially sea sickness. I tried these bands years ago and they did nothing at all. The only thing that works for me is Ondansetron, a prescription medication for nausea.
