    That's an interesting idea. We're just a couple with one dog and spend $500+ a month on groceries. Its amazing how used I've got to using a debit card for everything so using cash would easily make me realise how much I'm spending and hopefully cut it down a bit.

    I have been trying to buy fewer groceries so decided to do a stocktake of my pastas, rice, pulses, noodles etc. I hadn't realised how much I have so have written a list, looked up recipes using what I have and will meal plan to use up the stock I have before buying more.

    I bought 3 of their light mesh bags for $1.50 a while ago and reuse them along with some larger net bags I made for fruit and veg. I hope Wwths don't charge for their mesh bags again - I must keep an eye open at checkout, but I will never use single use plastic bags.

    When I go to the supermarket (we've only got one) my shopping list is written by aisles so, if I dont have anything marked, I dont even go into that aisle. Saves buying extras that aren't on the list.

    Why is 1 kg of chopped chicken breast (in a plastic pack) "reduced" to $14, when a whole chicken breast in their deli is $9.50/kg? People need to "shop around" in Woolworths itself, as well as in other places.
