Member Spotlight: Family, Love, and Food with @Suzanne rose

Thank you for sharing your story. You certainly had a hard working life, what a wonderful supportive husband you chose. I’m from a family of 8 and I know we ate well, dad was a cook and a gardener, and mum was a good cook, so we always had lots of fresh veges and fruit. Mum had another baby who...

Discover this senior's ‘ultimate sacrifice’ for a $60,000 dream home

I wanted to own my home before having a family, so when we got married in 1974 I was 19, we lived on one wage and saved the other wage. If I bought new clothes they were cheap ones. No holidays, if we went anywhere we stayed with family or friends. We bought our first home in NZ for $6,000 and...

Fact or fiction: Do you get sick from not wearing a jumper in the cold?

I have a high intolerance of the cold and in any breeze, from air-con, open doors or windows, under a fan, I get cold very quickly and it takes me hours to warm up. I get sick if I get too cold and can’t escape it. So I hibernate a bit in the cold weather. I wear wool-lined trousers, which are...

Are These Cleaning Tips Really Helping or Causing More Harm? Discover the Changes You Should Make Today!

I used an I’ve. Cleaning tip I found online, and love it. Slice a lemon and put it into an ovenproof container like a roasting dish. Turn the oven on and bake it for about 20-30 mins and leave for about 30-60 mins and then wipe off while it’s still moist. I did mine and then did my partners...

Get ready for winter fun: Coles’ amazing Ski range is now available online!

I live in Qld and I’ll be shopping for warm gear. As I’ve got older I can’t tolerate the cold. I have a heated jacket and I wore that yesterday as I found it hard to warm up. So yes, I’m keen to have a look.

Can you help Debbie with weight loss advice?

I lost 23 kg by cutting out everything with sugar in it, (no biscuits, cakes, chocolate, sweets, potato chips) and cut out potatoes, bread and pastry goods. I made heathy vegetable and bacon quiches with grated cheese on top, and had a piece of that with a salad for lunch, and a small serving of...

Young Australian arrested in Indonesia after ‘drunken, violent rampage’ left locals enraged

I’d be offended if he did that in Australia too, sounds like he deserves whatever punishment he gets. Maybe we should adopt their punishment for young thieves who steal cars here too! Might make them think twice!

    Cobbler’s last

Our Dad used one to do all of our shoes with toe and heel plates. We only had one pair of school shoes and jandals when we were little as we were a family of 8 kids. Mum and dad emigrated from England after the war with 5 kids and had another 3 in NZ. I was 7th so most of my clothes were...
