Do you have any memorable experiences during concerts?​

G’day, dear members!

We’re inching closer to the weekend, and I hope you’re as excited as I am.

This week has been challenging for me, but I have fully recovered just in time for an event I’m looking forward to this weekend: I’m watching a concert with my friends! 🎵

While I’ve seen many amazing acts over the past year, I’m particularly excited for this one because it’s this artist’s first-ever show.

Tuesday November 25, 1980. KISS in concert at Lang Park. A true show and performance. No mobile phones then to spoil the effects. One of the last concerts at Lang Park before the redevelopment into now Suncorp Stadium.

In 1987 my 14 yr old son was killed in a mva and the next year I think it was we went to see Jimmy Barnes, our next door neighbours new the promoters and they tols him about our son as he used to play Working Class Man every night when he went to bed and when we went to his concert he invited us to his dressing room and gave my daughter a t shirt and signed it saying best wishes Jim Barnes and the last song he sang was Working Class Man.

Two Country Festivals in W.A. Nambung Music Festival held on Nambung Station. and Serpentine Music Festival held on private property in Serpentine. Fabulous weekend long festivals camping in tents. Great music with great friends.
 
I have seen every Iron .Maiden concert to Australia. Have also seen The Iron MaidenS 2 time. KISS at Lang Park in 1980. AC/DC 4 times. Deep Purple,Suzi Q,Status Quo ,Angel's Divynls ,Screaming Jets ,Midnight Oil. I love music and play guitar
 
Well I’ve been to a few concerts all just as good as each other for their entertainment, and there’s just one concert, only one, that if I could ever make it to, I’d die a happy woman…..However, the most memorable ‘Concert’ I danced to became world famous…..I was 14 I think and a friend and I used to haunt the local youth club….we‘d all get our bottles of Coca Cola and go downstairs to the cavern and dance to the music of the day, or to the occasional groups that ventured to our club, Rugmans was its name……and the group was Black Sabbath on its journey to stardom……Didn’t go to any of their concerts of later years…….still, I’m glad I can say that I danced to them one evening in Dumfries at Rugmans youth club , when I was young 😁
 
Yes for me the most wonderful experience for me was in 1964 when I went to see the Beatles at the Festival Hall in Brisbane. It was incredible just to see them, hearing them wasn't really possible. Policemen lined up just below the stage. I never forgot. We were Beatlemaniacs, who lived and breathed the Beatles music and many of us preferred one of them over the others. For me it was John Lennon. The next year 'A Hard Day's Night' came to the Regent cinema in Queen Street. Many of us stayed outside all night to be sure of a good seat at the Brisbane Premier. The dress for boys was stovepipe trousers, button down collars, Beatle Boots (these had a Cuban Heel). Their hair was mostly in a fringe style to be like the Beatles cut. Girls wore either mini-skirts, or the 'Dolly Rocker' dress that came down to the ankles and t-bar shoes. So you could say we were truly Beatlemaniacs. What wonderful memories.
 
Best one for me was Florence + The Machine at a tiny theatre. Someone set off the fire alarm mid set, they cleared the smoke and she came back with just a mic, and the whole room sang Dog Days. Goosebumps stuff. When I miss general sale, I go resale for gigs or sports. I even grabbed ATP Finals Tickets that way last year, prices were set by sellers (some under face), checkout felt safe, and their support pinged back in like 5 mins.
