What hobby did you pick up after retiring?

A lovely arvo to you, members!

It’s a brand new week, and I’m writing to you from the comfort of my mum’s beautiful garden. I'm away from the city's hustle and bustle for now, and I can't help but appreciate the plants she took care of.

Since she retired, she has been busy doing a lot of interesting things—from travelling, joining dance classes, and gardening. Yet, she found herself reigniting her love for volleyball. I guess having multiple hobbies run within the family. 😅

How about you, what hobby did you pick up after retiring?

Hlobby? Not really in had to drop my primary interest golf due to Osteoarthritis in my knee. So what do I do?. I now actively support an Sri Lankan family in adapting to the Australian way of life and seek employment, education for the teenage girl including enrolment in a specialist English training school for her to get back to her high school when she has been considered appropriate development. We are now linked as a family and visit appropriate entertainment vistas like the Australian Zoo and Sea Life. I have my own family but am appreciated by this family as we will travel together as a family to Sri Lanka early next year to meet the family there and enjoy the New Year celebrations that are held in April there.

I joined an acapella four part harmony group & made wonderful friends. Thursdays are now my favourite day of the week!

Sublimation Printing ... and have given that away last christmas.

I took up digital photography. I love turning my photographs into books, particularly my Holiday trips and my Family history.
I love working with photo programs (Free ones) to improve the photograph. I also enjoy putting others into photographs. e,g, I put my son and grandson in the same photo at about the same age, or add birds anmd animals to a Scene.
The pictures are both Father and Son.

I have taken up lawn bowls & bred birds. I had to give up golf after a major back operation.

I was making jewellery for the first few years, but arthritis in my hands put a stop to that. Now I make greeting cards and junk journals, and play with paints (watercolour and acrylic). I also go to exercise classes at a local gym once a week. I also do puzzles, but that has been ongoing for decades - I inherited that gene from my Mum.

Who retires work as hard mentally as did physically prior the body gets gravity fed

I have picked up my love of handicrafts and now enjoy cardmaking and lacemaking and embroidery as well as many others. The tatting and bobbin lace were long admired but never tried and though challenging are being enjoyed.

Jigsaws ,great for passing the time.
