What indoor plant would you recommend?

Hello there, fine folks! I hope Wednesday popped in like a fresh bloom. 🌷 I’m in need of some advice, especially from our green thumb members. I know it’s not the most ideal time, but I’m thinking of getting indoor plants. What's best for beginners? I'd love to see some greens fill our home, so I’m looking forward to reading all your recommendations. Send them here.

Ask your friends if they have ones they love then take cuttings, you can put these in water in bottles or jars , then when they’ve taken root you can either leave them there or plant up . Remember all living plants need to go outside at least once a week for a dust off and fresh air .

A Madonna lily is a fabulous indoor plant, you can’t kill it , just keep it well watered and it will reward you with glossy leaves and white flowers.

Tomatoes and lettuce are easy to grow and all the herbs etc. lf you have any problems dip the roots in hormone powder or use Seasol which is seaweed so good for the garden.

Orchids are very easy care if you have filtered light, Madonna Lily is another. They both thrive on neglect I sometimes think in my house! Haha

Calathea Insignis( the jungle collection) Easy to grow & looks great

Not a plant lover l would rather grow something you can eat.
Someone gave me some cactus plants and l felt they needed water so of course they all died

Please be careful putting uncovered potting mix in the bathroom. My friend died from Legionnaires disease due to potting mix and steam in the bathroom.
It caused him to inhale the spores from the potting mix.:cautious:

Danielle, try a Parlor Palm, I have had one for over 35yrs. A little filtered light, water once a week in summer and fortnightly in winter, Feed with seasol.

Do you have pets?
This might be something to consider when choosing your plants.
Animals are not good with some plants, could be allergic or they might eat/shred them
