REVIEW: We tried Bell & Bone's Dental Topper Spray for two months. Here's what we thought 🐾

If you’ve got a fussy pup like mine, you’ll know the dinner routine can sometimes feel more like a negotiation than a meal. Evie, my small (but very opinionated) Japanese Spitz, has always had her favourites when it comes to food, and she’s not shy about turning her nose up at anything that doesn’t meet her standards.
So, when Bell & Bone sent over their new Dental Food Topper Spray*, I was curious but cautiously optimistic. The idea is simple: spray it over your dog’s regular meals (whether wet food or kibble) to support dental and gut health and let the gut-friendly ingredients go to work, reducing plaque, freshening breath, and boosting digestion. No brushing, no drama.
Evie tried two flavours: Beef* and Lamb*, but they also have Salmon* available.
Well, let’s just say… Evie’s tail was wagging before I even put the bowl down.
I’ve even caught her wolfing down her least favourite Lyka flavour with gusto. That alone would’ve won me over!
Evie definitely gives it two paws up!
Better yet, they have a special formula specifically for cats, too!*
But here’s where it gets even better – I haven’t brushed her teeth once since we started using the spray, and her breath has stayed surprisingly fresh. No stink, no plaque build-up, and yes… she still insists on sleeping with her head on my pillow. So I’d know if it wasn’t working!
We’ve also been using Bell & Bone’s other goodies:
Dental Sticks *(Kangaroo, Mint & Turmeric and Salmon, Mint & Charcoal – both a big hit!)
Healthy Dog Treats *– her absolute favourite is the Duck & Fibre.
There’s some clever science behind the spray, too. It’s the first of its kind in Australia, designed to target gut health to improve dental health. Curious to learn more? We wrote all about it here. Honestly, it feels like a no-brainer addition to our routine. Evie thinks it’s just a flavour boost (but really it's magic in a bottle, like those child medicine syrups that taste like a lolly).
If your dog turns into a food critic or if brushing their teeth turns your sweet angel into more of a wild animal, this little spray might be your new best friend. It’s certainly become one of mine.
