Thanks, just looked it up, not dangerous levels but I always wondered why my youngest son always said he washed rice before cooking. I have never done this but will in future :) 🌷

I’ve always washed mine in hot kettle water for some reason 😳don’t ask me why.

Dear member Jo Piper3, thankyou for your post. Yes, I also rince the rice before cooking it. If you look at the water that the rice has been rinced in, you will notice it is cloudy and kind of whitish in colour. I rince the rice about 3 or 4 times till the cloudy water becomes clear. Wishing you a pleasant day. 🙏🦋

Rinsing is also good for getting rid of some of the excess starch resulting in fluffier, less sticky rice.

I only eat brown rice these days as I find white rice boring no matter which way you cook it🌞
