By the time they arrived at the woman’s home, police allege the man forced his way inside.
There, it is claimed that he sexually assaulted the woman before fleeing, taking her house keys with him.
The woman was able to contact emergency services later that evening, at about 5:40 pm, to report the incident.
She was transported to hospital for an assessment, and police began setting up a crime scene while commencing their inquiries.
Authorities released images of a man they would like to speak to as part of the investigation.
The man was described as having fair skin, dark hair, and a slight beard.
He was seen wearing a black shirt with white panels, dark blue pants, and white shoes.
A statement from police confirmed that the investigation was taken up by the State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad.
