This Adelaide bride's wedding day turned into a nightmare! See what happened

Weddings are known for their heartfelt moments and careful planning—but sometimes, things don’t quite go to plan.

For one bride, what was meant to be a special day took an unexpected turn, leaving behind a story few will forget.

A series of surprising events quickly turned the celebration into something entirely unplanned.

Jade Jensen, a 27-year-old Adelaide native, had poured her heart and soul into planning her dream wedding.

With a year's worth of preparation and her project management skills honed from her mining job, Jade was determined to create the perfect day for herself, her groom Heath, and their 80 guests.

But as many of us know, even the best-laid plans can go awry, and Jade's wedding day was no exception.

The morning of her wedding, Jade was in high spirits. She hosted a bridal brunch complete with beautiful French pastries and fine champagne to pamper her friends before they all got their hair and makeup done.

It was a gesture of gratitude towards her girlfriends, some of whom she hadn't seen in a long time.

But amidst the excitement and chatter, a seemingly harmless act of opening a champagne bottle turned into the first of many unfortunate events.

'I was too busy yapping to all of my girlfriends because I had not seen them for so long and wasn’t thinking properly,' Jade recounted.

The cork from the champagne bottle flew and struck her squarely on the forehead.

Thankfully, Jade's previous experience as a paramedic and her friends' medical expertise quickly came into play as they administered an ice pack to prevent swelling.

However, the day's trials were far from over. To alleviate the pain and prevent a noticeable bump on her forehead, Jade reached for what she thought were Nurofen tablets.

In a daze from the accident, she accidentally ingested two Restavit tablets, a potent sleep medication, instead.

With the wedding ceremony scheduled for 4:30 PM and only 9:30 AM, Jade was thrown into a state of panic.

Despite making herself sick to expel the tablets, Jade couldn't be sure they were out of her system.

By 2 PM, she was battling extreme fatigue, but the show had to go on. As she walked down the aisle, her beloved kelpie, Sassie, who was freely roaming the property, became overly excited.

The dog ran up to Jade, stepped on her 3-meter-long veil, and ripped it from her head.

But Sassie wasn't done yet; halfway through the ceremony, right before the vows, the dog decided it was the perfect time for a bathroom break, right at the altar.

'At that point, already so much had gone wrong, and I’d had such a crazy morning, all I could do was laugh,' Jade said, reflecting on the situation's absurdity.

Despite the unfortunate events, Jade and Heath enjoyed the rest of their wedding day.

The rest of the celebration passed without further incident, and the couple could look back on the day with humor.

Jade even shared her story on social media, which quickly went viral, amassing over 2 million views.

Her resilience and ability to laugh at the situation earned her the admiration of viewers, with one commenting that Jade was a 'trooper' for pushing through after taking two sleeping pills.

While some might have considered the day's mishaps a lousy omen, most saw the funny side, including the wedding guests who called it 'still the most unbelievable day.'

For our readers at the Seniors Discount Club, Jade's story reminds us that sometimes, no matter how much we plan, life has its own script.

It's a testament to the importance of maintaining a sense of humor and resilience in the face of adversity.

So, whether you're planning a wedding or any other significant event, remember to take a deep breath, roll with the punches, and maybe keep a close eye on your medication and pets!

The only mishap at our wedding was just after our best man passed the rings over, he fainted!! Fell flat on his face. He did reappear for the photos.
however at his own wedding he fainted twice, and ended up having to sit down for the rest of his vows. One very nervous best man/groom.

Our wedding was a really small affair, we had 30 guests. We were catering it ourselves in our brand new home and had turkey salad planned for the meal. My Dad provided all the home grown salad stuff and we provided the turkey.

Hubby-to-be was a Buyer for a large business and one of his suppliers donated a turkey, it was huge, a close relative of the Emu I reckoned. Anyway. it was too big for the oven so we took out all the shelves and sides and stood the bird upright, corner to corner. We put a big drip tray in the plate warming drawer at the bottom of the oven, crossed our fingers and left it to cook as we had the ceremony.

When we next had a moment to check on its progress the drip tray was full and overflowing, the kitchen floor was swimming in turkey fat and you took your life in your hands trying to cross the floor.

All we could do was put towels down and press on as if nothing was wrong. On a positive note, the meal turned out really well and was enjoyed by all. What was not enjoyed was all the cleaning up afterwards and for months I fancied I could still feel the greasiness of the turkey fat on whatever I touched in the kitchen.

It was a while before I could see the funny side of it and even longer till I was ready to cook my next turkey! :)

I’m so glad she laughed……It will be something to be remembered and laughed about round the dinner table, and a wonderful story to tell to anyone children they may have….

Not sure IF you were referring to our best man fainting …. This was a non alcoholic wedding, only 30 guests as I married an Australian and none of his family were able to make it To UK. However my father married us as he was a Minister and they didn’t drink, none of my friends did either!! I now live in Australia.
