More scam emails

Today I received 2 more scam messages. The first one, purporting to be from Suncorp Bank, says: “You have urgent unread message.” Does anyone see the grammatical error?? Interestingly, I do not have an account with Suncorp and have never had an account with Suncorp! I wonder why they want to contact me so urgently? I am not clicking on that link to find out!

First email:

This is a message from Suncorp Bank.

You have urgent unread message.

Go to [link provided] and read your message.

Thank you

The next email had the sender as “Australia Government & MyGov”. Does anyone notice the grammatical error?? It purported to be from “myGov Team” which does not exist. If you get anything from “myGov Team”, delete it.

Second one:

This is a message from myGov Team.

You’ve got 1 unread message!
[Click this link} and read your message.

Thank you

That’s 2 more emails deleted from my inbox as quickly as they came in.

Another scam email arrived (see below). This one is of the variety that says you have made a purchase and to click on the link if you did not make the purchase. This type of scam has been around for a long time. I have had them from purported retailers saying I bought something from them, such as a computer game that I had never heard of. I have received some from purported financial management companies saying my account has been accessed or from a computer security company sending me an invoice that they claim will be debited from my bank account - and so on. I think Chase is an American bank and I have nothing to do with it. I certainly do not have a “Chase card”. Of course, there is no identifying data to confirm I am the intended recipient. If you get anything like this, do not even bother to check up on it. Just delete it.

Try clicking on menu bar at top of screen see 3 arrows reply reply to all and FORWARD click on forward screen comes up showing original sender of email - if not MyGov or whoever they claim to be DELETE do not do anything just use DELETE then go on with life
Works for me using Thunderbird n Google

Not expecting a msg, not waiting on government money, haven’t bought anything & waiting on delivery - then delete. These scammers use all sorts of ways to scam and they will do it not just to one person but to multiple people to see which person will ‘fall for it’. That’s how they work so just delete something vague. If the government wants to give me money, I’ll accept but wait until it arrives in my bank account.

I don’t fall for scams that come into my inbox - that also goes for all the medicine messages and Ukrainian sex messages that end up in my scam box. They all get deleted without opening. If somebody really wants to get in touch they will have to do so legally not by trying to scam me and they will, preferably, have to do that many times before I even consider opening any messages or answering any phone calls.

i had one yesterday from ATO and one today from centrelink, a tip i had from telstra was, press on the name it says it from and a list of scammers come up😡 it’s so hard for us elderly people 😡JeanM
