Have you ever encountered this during your flight? Passenger shares bizarre encounter in Jetstar airline

Travelling by air can be a mixed bag of experiences.

Unexpected hiccups often accompany the promise of swift transit.

For a passenger aboard a specific Jetstar flight, the journey took a turn for the bizarre, which led to a series of unfortunate events.

The incident, since dubbed the 'Invisible Woman' fiasco, began with a routine announcement.

A flight attendant informed passengers that a seat had been reserved for a woman and her baby.

However, as the plane taxied on the runway, it became apparent that no passengers were boarding, and the seats in question remained empty throughout the flight.

This peculiar situation prompted a passenger who had already endured a less-than-ideal experience with Jetstar to document the empty seats.

Rob Butvila shared the image on a social media group dedicated to Jetstar passengers.

'I present to you, the invisible lady and the baby,' Butvila wrote, showing the absurdity of the moment and the growing frustration among the passengers.

However, the 'invisible' seat reservation was just the tip of the iceberg.

Mr Butvila's journey with Jetstar had been fraught with issues.

His initial flight from Townsville to Melbourne had been delayed by several hours.

According to Mr Butvila, the aircraft sounded as if it was on the verge of mechanical failure.

The saga continued when the pilot announced that coffee and tea would be complementary as amends for the delay.

Yet, a flight attendant began charging passengers for these beverages.

When Mr Butvila pointed out the captain's promise, he was met with an eye roll.

'We don't normally do that,' the flight attendant retorted to Mr Butvila.

'This is why nobody likes flying Jetstar,' Mr Butvila stated.

Several Aussies echoed sentiments similar to those of Mr Butvila.

Comments criticised the airline for its service and the discomfort of its seating, which one commenter likened to 'concrete pillars'.

The frustration expressed by Mr Butvila and other Jetstar passengers was indicative of a broader issue among budget airlines.

While these carriers offer the allure of affordable tickets, the trade-off often comes in the form of reduced comfort, additional fees, and a lack of reliability.

As of writing, Jetstar has yet to comment on the incident.

When choosing an airline, it's essential to weigh the cost savings against potential inconveniences.

It's also a reminder to always advocate for oneself when service falls short of what's promised.

If you find yourself in a similar situation, speak up and demand the service you were assured.

What do 2 empty 'saved' seats create for other passengers? I don't understand why saved seats not being used would cause such a huge upset for other people. Unless the few hours delay was from waiting for those people, but I find it hard to believe any airline would delay for late boarders.

Some people just like to make a fuss over nothing. Hate flying and hope l don't ever have to l am too claustrophobic.

I only fly Virgin now. Always happy...Well, as happy as an Economy customer can be! 😅
I flew Virgin just to Jersey from Edinburgh when I last went to visit family….. I was so surprised….the seats were great, plenty of room and the staff were really nice. I did purchase a sandwich and it was really nice and fresh ….i‘d be happy to fly Virgin again based on that…
