General Discussion Thread 08.04.2025

G’day, members! ☀️ I hope your day’s off to a bright and cosy start—whether you're already ticking things off your to-do list or just easing in with a warm cuppa in hand. And speaking of comforting routines… here’s a fun thought to ponder: What’s something you absolutely hated as a kid but now love as an adult? For me, it was afternoon naps—I used to dread them! But these days? I’d give anything to sneak in a nap between meetings or chores.

How about you? We’d love to know yours here!

Olives, hated the taste of them, but now love them, especially the Greek Kalamata type, great with cheese and crackers

I love naps anytime
I do now too. The Dr. recommended it after she had my younger brother. It rests your muscles even if you don't do to sleep which you will do if you need it. One sure way for me is to read a few pages of a book. I often wake up and find my book on the floor because it has fallen off my bed.

I hated green vegetables but now i love them.i still hate chicken I was bought up on a farm let and we had to go and get a chook and prepare it for cooking
That reminds me when we asked my son-in-law to kill this sick hen
He caught it then let it go while he lifted the axe expecting it to just sit there. Well of course it just run for it's life and Paul spent the next half hour chasing it

My mother tried to get myself & brother to eat cauliflower & broccoli with white sauce. Now at 60 my wife puts a baked dinner on the table and I will attack them first over anything else.
Cauliflower is white trees and Broccoli is green trees.......in white sauce

Mushrooms , as a kid l couldn't believe people ate a fungus. But as an adult I've leant to appreciate them and their flavours.
