Level up dinner with Woolworths' mouthwatering twist on roast chicken

In the Land Down Under, where the sun kisses the ocean and the BBQ sizzles year-round, one culinary staple unites us all—the humble roast chook.

It's a symbol of simplicity, a beacon of convenience, and a testament to the deliciousness of Australian home cooking.

But hold onto your hats, dear members of the Seniors Discount Club, because Woolworths is about to take your roast chicken game to a new level of scrumptious.

Introducing the Garlic Bread Hot Roast Chicken, a twist on the beloved classic that will tantalise your taste buds and make your next meal memorable.

Woolworths, a household name that has filled our pantries and fridges for generations, has decided to spice things up in the roast chicken department.

Before you raise an eyebrow at the thought of messing with perfection, let's dive into what this new culinary creation entails.

Imagine a succulent roast chicken, its skin seasoned to golden perfection with a blend of garlic and aromatic herbs. But the magic doesn't stop there.

Inside, you'll find stuffing infused with buttery, garlicky goodness reminiscent of the classic garlic bread we all know and love.

Callan Schafer, Woolworths Food Company Product Developer, understands the assignment.

'We know Aussies love a roast chook, and we're always looking for ways to add excitement to this customer favourite,' he said.

'Garlic bread is a crowd-pleaser, and this flavour taps into the love Aussies have for this classic comfort food.'

Whether planning a quick weeknight dinner, a weekend family gathering, or simply looking for a tasty addition to your sandwiches and salads, this Garlic Bread Hot Roast Chicken is ready to serve.

The meal brings a smile and leaves you satisfied without the fuss of hours spent in the kitchen.

Since 17 March, this delectable bird has been gracing the shelves of Woolworths stores nationwide, joining the ranks of other popular flavours like BBQ and Tandoori.

But as with all good things, there's a slight catch—this upgraded roast chicken has a modest price increase.

While the standard roast chicken costs $12, the Garlic Bread Hot Roast Chicken costs $13.50.

But let's be honest, for an extra $1.50, isn't it worth indulging in a little extra flavour?

So, dear members, next time you're strolling through the aisles of your local Woolies, why not treat yourself to this new culinary delight?

It's a small price to pay for a meal that will bring comfort and joy to your table. And remember, life's too short for bland chicken.

It's my opinion only but the Woollies chicken isn't as flavoursome as the Coles one.... will give the new flavour one a go, hopefully a good hit of spice 🤔

I don’t buy “ Roast Chicken” from either Supermarket because when I did try some from Coles it
Had stuffing with it which I don’t like so it put me off buying the so called ready meal .. I Roast my own.. without stuffing..

At $65 admission charge on top of the cost of the chicken, Woolworths is MUCH cheaper than Costco!
My daughter shops with a few friends at Costco and 5 of them have split the joining fee amongst themselves.

The one friend who is able to do all the shop visits holds the membership card and whoever wants to join in on a shop is invited.

I don't buy cooked chickens anymore. I dislike their seasoning. I buy a whole fresh one and cook it in the air fryer.
Sounds good.
I just need to get an air fryer, then, find a gap on the bench to put it.
Mind you, the meals my niece makes in hers are pretty darn good.
I have just had a brainwave. I'll get my niece to cook my chickens for me.

If you decide on an air fryer, check out air fryer ovens. They're not much more expensive when on sale but do a whole lot more than the air fryer with a pull-out basket. We picked up one at Target for $89 before Xmas although Kmart was selling the same model but had run out of stock.

Yes I bought a large size air fryer. A spray of olive oil, salt & pepper. Turn over half way. Perfect. I also cook wings and drumsticks too. The twin basket air fryers don't fit a whole chicken though.

I don't get woollies roast chooks - the local store has them looking like rust and they are dry so i get them from coles who are not only cheaper but they look right and are moist.
