Deaar Suzanne,
May I respectively point out - I think you made an error with the conversion of ounces to grams for the canned tomatoes in this recipe. The original recipe at https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/grandma-s-rice-dish/#RecipeCard, calls for 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) which converts to about 412g, canned tomatoes in Aust that I use, are about 440g so - close enough, not 800g as you listed in this resipe.
I hope you can verify that yourself. I frequently check out your recipes, so thank you for sharing.

I don't always go by a recipe, after I have made it I do change make changes where I feel.
The large can is what I use. The first time I made it I used one can but felt it needed more.
I have also used the regular can as that's all I had and added 1/2 can of water

Glad you asked. If you want to use one can it still works but is better with the larger can

Maybe I should be adding when a recipe is changed . Although I always add where the recipe came from .
That would be a great idea to stop us google nerds wondering if it is intentional change or unintentional error .. Thanks again for sharing.
