Remember those old Gladstone bags Dads used to carry to work every day? They held more than just sandwiches—they carried the stories of their hard day's work. Do you remember those days? Share your memories here.
 
Back in late 1940s & early 1950s this is what we used as our school bags! Clearly remember lugging them around onto trams to get to and from school.
 
I knew a guy who went to work in a suit carrying this bag. At work, he took his boilersuit and boots out of the bag and changed. We called him FIGJAM
 
Yes, even in the 1960s. I had a Gladstone bag during my high school years 1959 - 1964 (and from memory so did most of the other boys at Swan Hill High).

I remember my Grandfather leaving for work putting on his hat, then his bicycle clips on his trousers legs and carrying his Gladstone Bag, before hopping on his bicycle. It's a fond memory
