A brazen thief was caught on CCTV allegedly stealing $170 worth of groceries from an Adelaide woman’s front porch, just moments before she stepped outside to collect them.
Eliza Bolton, a mother from Hallett Cove, had been inside nursing her baby when the theft occurred.
Security footage showed a man in a bucket hat, white T-shirt, shorts, and sneakers walking up to her home in broad daylight.
He picked up the grocery bags and quickly made his way back to a waiting ute, which appeared to have an accomplice inside.
The vehicle reversed slightly as he returned, suggesting a coordinated effort.
Bolton took to social media to call out the alleged thief, writing: ‘I was inside the house with my baby and opened the door two minutes after he left. If you recognise this guy or have ANY information, please let me know. It’s been reported to the police.’
South Australia Police confirmed they were investigating the incident but had no further updates.
Locals expressed their outrage online, with one person commenting: ‘What’s this world coming to—it’s crazy what people are doing.’
Another speculated that the thief might have been following the Woolworths delivery truck.
