Change the way you keep things at home with this Kmart find

As the festive season winds down, many homeowners face the annual conundrum of packing Christmas decorations away.

Whether you're someone who promptly dismantles the tree on Boxing Day or lets it linger until the Twelfth Night, the tinsel must eventually be tucked away for the next festivities.

Fear not, because someone shared her nifty storage solution that won't break the bank.

Enter Kmart's $19 storage solution that's making waves on social media for being the perfect item for your New Year's storage task.

Content creator and mum Chloe Cowper shared her storage solution tip, which caught the attention of her followers.

Cowper shared that Kmart's Linen Look Storage Box with Dividers helped her with stowing away holiday decor—despite it being designed for a different purpose.

While the $19 storage item was intended to be a shoe organiser, Cowper found it to be the ideal container for her festive ornaments.

The box has a zip lid to keep dust and pests at bay and a removable insert that divides the space into eight neat sections.

'I thought for $19 this was a much better solution than just chucking everything loosely in a container,' Cowper shared.

'I know that there are specific products designed exactly like this to store your baubles, but if you don't want to order online or you're a bit late to it and there is nothing left to store, you can go and buy yourself a shoe organiser,' she added.

Cowper showed how she used each compartment to categorise her decorations.

This level of organisation made packing away a cinch for her and also ensured that the following holidays would be just as orderly.

For just $19, everyone can avoid the frustration of tangled lights and broken baubles.

No more rummaging through jumbled decorations come next December.

We had so many plastic containers stacked in the garage full of Christmas decorations so this year we bought three outdoor storage boxes. One for the outdoor lights and decorations, one for the baubles (already in the special storage boxes) and other indoor decorations and one for the cushions and table linen etc stored in vacuum bags. The Christmas corner looks so much neater and next year it will be so much easier to find everything instead of opening endless containers looking for stuff. We were hoping the Christmas tree would fit in one but that sits on the top in its storage bags. I didn’t realise we had so much Christmas stuff, I tried to down size it but we use everything

I am disappointed that this story used the word HOLIDAY instead of CHRISTMAS. They are Christmas decorations, not holiday decorations.
Some people decorate several times a year for various reasons, eg halloween and Easter, and need to store these decorations as well as Xmas. Therefore the word holiday covers all sorts of celebrations from all sorts of countries, religious beliefs and many more.
