Lori Dickson/ Memory Lane - Growing up in Australia

Remember the thrill of hopping onto the back of your Pop's ute for an exciting ride? While it may be illegal now, back then, it was all about the thrill of the wind in your hair and the excitement of the adventure. It was the ultimate Aussie experience, filled with laughter and stories shared with mates. Do you have other cherished memories from the past? Share them below!

I remember when I was 7 years old, so had to be around 1968 , my aunt who is 9 years older than me and a blonde haired 16 year old surfer girl and myself were in the back of my Grandfathers grey Ute.
I think it was around Anzac Pde near the old Moore Park show ground Sydney when my aunt starting screaming and waving her hands. There was a long white car parked next to ours and inside was the group The Monkeys .
One of them popped their head out the window and was waving and talking to her. That was the start of me watching and listening to The Monkeys
