Call for change: Is it time to reform the Work Bonus for pensioners?

One other factor to be taken into consideration,is bracket creep. That is, if your income goes up to offset the cost of living, unless the income tax brackets are also indexed to keep pace, you end up paying tax when you didn't before.Or paying even more tax.Which in effect means when the...

Is this popular side hustle secretly ruining lives? Sabrina, Ellen, and Chloe share their shocking story

To be honest this falls into the too good to be true category, in my view.Digital currency may be all the rage at the moment but your investment could disappear in a blink. It's not worth a p.o.s until its in your REAL wallet. I'd convert it into coin of the realm asap, if I were in your shoes.

I agree with the general thrust of this article, however the fact remains making your home more energy efficient requires upfront capital investment.Beyond the reach of many.

Is this popular side hustle secretly ruining lives? Sabrina, Ellen, and Chloe share their shocking story

I was a member of Amway back in the day and I can relate to much of this story. It wasn't as bad as the experience the women in the story had..It was much more positive and character building, but the weekly pep talks[tapes] you got from your' Diamond' upline, were brain washing tools. It did...

TV host breaks down on air as shocking scandal rocks community

In my opinion, there are certain areas of social services where Private enterprise should never be permitted. Child care is one of them. Now,I seem to remember this individual was initially barred but got it lifted on appeal? Can anyone confirm? If so the magistrate or whoever-should be named and...

NSW is again cleaning up after major floods. Are we veering towards the collapse of insurability?

What gets me,novezar,is the lack of forward planning and management of the whole business of carbon reduction leading to closure of legacy power generating units and increased gas and electricity prices.I have shares in an Australian company, Eden Innovations, which developed a cement mix...

While on the subject,I came across an ad for nighttime spectacles on YT spruiking specs which can fit over your glasses to cut out the blinding effects of these pestilential led lights.Haven't checked on the cost of them so far but it goes to show the adverse effects of these lights are becoming...

Are Aussie vehicles slowly blinding you? Motorists rev up debate over this modern feature

I agree with those drivers who complain about being blinded by these new headlights.Even when on low beam they're a blinding risk. Time for an Australian inquiry.

DIY Super in Retirement: Golden Opportunity or Stressful Burden?

My advice after experiencing running an SMSF is -don't.It's a big hassle. It takes A HUGE CHUNK OF YOUR TIME.Best idea is to pick a good Super fund such as 'Aware'- but do some research. Then set and forget.

NSW is again cleaning up after major floods. Are we veering towards the collapse of insurability?

The problem is greed, pure and simple.Yes there may be reasons for upping a premium but the question is by how much? It appears genuine reasons are being used as a cover for price gouging. The only way I can see to prevent this is generate a climate of real competition-not phony as is the case...

Authorities jail three people, charge more individuals over tax fraud

It's good these grifters are being caught. However, they are mere small fry compared to the massive theft of wealth taken from our stock market by manipulation of share prices which are not being prevented by ASIC or the ASX.Over the past decade or so,Australia has had billions of dollars worth...
