I will be 67 in just over a fortnight. Three months ago, Centrelink asked if I wanted to switch to the Aged Pension from my current Carer Payment. I said I will stay on the Carer payment as I would lose $1800 a year in Carer Supplements. I am still a Carer and will still be in the near future.

I am now 48kg over weight (BMI 47) due to damage to my spine. I could not walk for 18 months. After surgery 2 weeks ago I am now up and about using a walker. Being on Metformin is helping me, lost 4kg in the last 3 weeks. I am looking forward to being size 12/14 by the end of the year.

It is disgusting, glad I am not going to Wagga anytime soon.

I am on Metformin which is a table for Type 2 Diabetes. I am pre-Diabetic, which is characterized by blood sugar levels higher than normal but not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. my weight is slowly coming down. I would rather a tablet than an injection.

My husband has just recovered from throat cancer. He found a lump in the side of his face and it grew quickly. Luckily he saw a doctor who sent him straight to an ENT specialist. Now he is having trouble with his thyroid, we are hoping that it was not caused by the radiation therapy.

It all depends on when you get your fortnightly payment. The 20th is the starting point and we are always paid in arrears. You might get something in the first payment after the 20th but definitely in your second payment.
