Cash isn’t dead yet: Big banks and retail giants unite to save Armaguard – and keep your money moving

When I eat out with friends and one pays with card at the end of the meal, the rest of us do an immediate bank transfer for our share into their bank account. It hits the account immediately, no one is out of pocket, and no one has to carry cash around. I know that is not everyone's choice and I...

Cash isn’t dead yet: Big banks and retail giants unite to save Armaguard – and keep your money moving

If they take my cash it is gone forever ... if a card is taken it can be cancelled immediately and any harm lessened, if not completely stopped. That is just common sense.

Cash isn’t dead yet: Big banks and retail giants unite to save Armaguard – and keep your money moving

That is one of the reasons, as a senior, I feel safer not carrying cash. I respect the choices of those who do want to use cash, but I rarely use it now.

It really is a matter of preference, and those who want to use cash should be able to without any difficulties. As a senior, I feel safer not carrying cash on me, but that is my personal preference, and both cash and card payments should be an option for those who choose to use one or the other.

Discover how Peter Dutton's latest Centrelink proposal could affect your benefits!

I know more than you do about this ... why are you determined to believe pensioners are exempt? Unfortunately, it is morons like you who will cause horrors for those who will be subjected to the card because of your utter stupidity. Your research skills are non-existent then. Tell me ... were...

Plus people are not using their brains and are making this a Labor vs LNP argument. It would not matter which party was bringing this in I would vehemently fight against it ... even if it was the party I usually vote for! This issue is serious and will affect so many lives ... it is way more...

In that case you certainly are. They will pay for this when the card comes in but sadly so will other pensioners who aren't as stupid and who deserve better.

No you fool. I was one of those campaigning against the card last time. I went to Canberra. I watched Senate hearings. I actually educated myself. I am sure you did NONE of that. You are one of those who just believe what mainstream media force-feed you sadly.

I can't believe how many people who know nothing about the card seem to think it won't happen to them!

Act your age and not your shoe size, What a pity you are too ignorant to acknowledge you know NOTHING about the card. Oh well when you get affected by it don't cry to those of us who actually do know something about it.

Stop with the incessant lies on the posts! Pensioners WILL be placed on the card ... that has always been the plan and it was only because they were voted out last time it didn't happen earlier. I actually watched the last Senate hearing where the card was up for debate and I know exactly who...
