Aussie slams restaurant chain for 'abhorrent breach' in food safety. What happened?

Never eaten at any of the fast food outlets and never will unless something dire happens. Only take away has been fish and chips and cannot remember when that was to be honest. That is just shocking to be served raw chicken.

An Aussie's hotel booking through Qantas' website vanished upon arrival

This reminded me of a flight I did from South Africa to Zimbabwe many many moons ago. Arrived at hotel at 2.30 a.m. or thereabouts (pre booked) to find no record of it. Fortunately they put me up in a room where a man lived Monday to Friday and I was there for the two days until he came back...

I have seen signs up in supermarkets warning people of this scam.

One call, five days, 130 transactions: How a 91-year-old was scammed

I see a lot of numbers starting with O3 and I live in WA. They never get answered.

One call, five days, 130 transactions: How a 91-year-old was scammed

I totally agree. She obviously is not compent enough to do her own financial dealings. The message obviously is STILL not getting through to certain sections of society re these scam calls. I did hear the other day that in the main people are no longer so gullible and the number of scams has...

    AVG renewal scam email

Maybe before a person even goes online they should go to classes or whatever to learn the pitfalls of being on the internet and become conversant with what they should be looking out for. All should go to scamwatch and check out the latest scams doing the rounds.

‘We've seen the commodity price skyrocket’: The hidden reason behind rising chocolate prices

I always purchase everything by checking the UNIT price for 100grams. Last week I got two tins (600g) of Roses chocolates for $10. each. On discount after xmas. Worked out at around $1.67 per hundred grams. So much cheaper than buying any of the other chocolates. I never buy easter eggs...

Centrelink offers up to $6,548 assistance for Aussies tiding through hard times

I hope they are keeping a good watch on this scheme as previously lots of shonky people took advantage of the handouts. Did not even live in the area that experienced flooding.

Masked vandal shocks Aussies with severed heads of politician statues, causing $140,000 in damages

Well that horse has bolted. The past cannot be changed; move forward....Jacinta Price, for whom I have a great deal of admiration has the intelligence to realise that living in the past does nothing.

‘What else can I do?’: She lost $2.6 m in a scam—now her bank wants more

Wow just shows how even the well educated can be stupid. To my way of thinking greed got to her. Why on earth you would hand over so much money?

Masked vandal shocks Aussies with severed heads of politician statues, causing $140,000 in damages

This despicable act only widens the divide between people. Saying "sorry" obviously did not work so what will?

See how much this restaurant charges for fish and chips and whether you're overcharged!

We all know if you choose to dine out you will pay for it these days. Reading the menu before you go is not a bad idea then you will not be in for bill shock and you have the choice of going somewhere else OR staying at home and eating at a price that is more suitable to your hip pocket :)
