Hi, I am an 89 year old Male. I live alone having lost my lovely gorgeous wife after 67 years of wonderful marriage. I was her carer for the last 4 years of her life and was pleased to be able to that for her.
Basically I hate retirement having worked untill I was 76 and reduced untill I was unable any more. I find retirement hard and living alone terrible. Ive tried two nursing homes but basically I hated them, their food was ghastly and service poor. The first one I signed in full time a bit after my wife passed away, stayed for 1 month left with an eating out debt close to $1000. The second one was for a 4 week respite, I lasted 5 days and left with painful ares of my body caused by dreadful furniture, which I'm still suffering from. At no time did I receive and assistance from the staff even when pressing the bell many times. I should add that I am significantly disabled having over the past 14 months been reduced from walking my gorgeous Greyhound to now no longer being able to walk except for a few minutes behind a walker. I am now reduced to hating my life. I have been a level 4 package holder for around 4 years but cannot get enough service hours due to their cost to keep going. I was for many years an engineering and business consultant working in SE Asia and the USA. Thank you.
