Please everyone stop thing about the impact of large vehicles in the heavily populated areas. If people living in rural and remote areas were to be penalized for driving a large vehicle it would be criminal. These people require a larger/heavier vehicle to withstand the poor quality of the roads...

So who knows what other vehicular requirement the family have. They may not be able to afford to have a smaller car to travel in the city and the larger vehicle to tow/carry large loads. If a tax were to be imposed on a per km base it should be inversed so those living in remote areas pay lees...

So what about people living in remote areas where it could be a 200km, or more, round trip to buy milk and bread, let alone groceries. It is all and good looking at the densely populated areas where people should be encouraged to use public transportation.

Therefore, you would understand a small towing a caravan would be more danger on the roads than a larger one. Yes drivers wishing to tow caravans or trailers should be required to undertake additional training and testing it should not matter what size the vehicle is.

So because owners of these vehicles living in cities are creating the issues you have highlighted then all owners are to be penalised. Please take your small vehicles and drive on some of the roads in not so remote areas and see how long it remains in a roadworthy condition.

Yes e-bike and e-scooter riders need to be more careful while operating their vehicle on pedestrian footpaths. There is another group who need to be mindful when operating their vehicle and that is motorised chairs, at times the disabled driver thinks they have priority wherever they go.
