Ha Ha. I love that. I've had a few on face book. I lead them on too by preaching to them. Surprise, surprise they've given up.

Shoppers express fury over $60 basket discovered at charity store

I live in a small country town 1/2 way across Australia. We have a lot of travellers passing through & they reckon our op shop is the best they have been too. Items are under $10 & most under $5. Also they have a lot of freebies in the line of fruit & veg. I went in there today & bought 4 DVDs...

‘Spent over $100k’: The costly fight over barking dogs that divided a local neighbourhood

The same happened to me. My neighbour complained to the council & they virtually called me a liar, which really upset me. The complaints were still going in when my dog had been dead for3 months. Didn't get one apology. I even had to prove he was dead by digging up his body!

Why ‘eat the young’ hurts every generation in the workplace, and how we can all make a change

I didn't notice this type of behaviour when I did my training (60+ years ago) nor did I apply it. My Granddaughter, who has just completed her RN, told me she found this behaviour very prominent in the larger hospitals & has come across it less in the small country hospitals & particularly from...

‘Spent over $100k’: The costly fight over barking dogs that divided a local neighbourhood

I had a similar problem. I am a little deaf, so tried to do something about the daytime barking, but was perplexed about the night time, as my dog slept on the floor beside me. The dogs were shut in from 5pm to 8am & were allowed out for their pre bed wee, with me with them. I would have known...

    Online buyers be aware

have to be careful. Must say I have been very happy with Kogan. I bought a washing machine from them & the courier brought it in & arranged for someone to set it up for me. But I live in a small country town & the courier was a local guy......

Bring home some groceries for free thanks to this initiative

Because I'm on a pension I've had a few people say to me about the "wonderful benefits" I receive - what benefits? I receive a pension payment, which I am very grateful for. Because I live in a rural area; power, water, phone (if you can get a reception) fuel, food etc is way more expensive than...

    AIBU 03.02.2025

I agree with the responses. I live next to a hotel in a small country town also on my own & elderly. I find Saturday & Friday nights a nightmare. I've had drunks try & force there way in, but soon leave when they meet my dog(A Maremma x Irish wolf hound)

Your innocent beach find could cost you $2,200—here's what to avoid

years ago, when my daughter was small, she was playing on the sound @ a local beach & stepped on some shallow buried left overs from a beach barby & ended up in hospital with third degree burns on her feet

Woman's kind gesture at checkout leads to surprising outcome

I too had a similar experience. I use to have a lady come to me for money for food. One day, instead of giving her money, I gave her a box of food. When she left she threw the box onto the road.

Discover the Shocking Toxic Threat an Aussie Found Next Door – Should They Spill the Secret?

I had to have a little chuckle when I read this. Perhaps I should be hired to deal with these lilies - I KILL them. Have never been able to grow them. They just die. I've been told everything belonging to the lily family is poisonous.

a few years ago a friend of mine had an egg(layed by one of her own chooks) that had another egg inside it, shell & all, & the 2nd egg was a double yoker!
