I lost my Father nearly 40 years ago so every Father's Day since 1986 I have only been able to remember him. You don't realise how much you are going to miss your parents until they are gone, You think "Oh, I must tell Dad", then it hits you, that's not possible any more!

Pensioners are assessed either on income or assets. What is seen above is the asset test. Income is "deemed" to earn interest at a certain rate. This is what is changing. After September we might be able to work out what we lose but it looks like the Government will be making further changes.

Suzanne Rose, at least your mother won't have any problems with assets. I suggest you get in touch with Anglicare, https://www.anglicare.com.au/ or any of the other church organisations for a start. They could have a facility near you or could suggest an independent living organisation that does.

Look out for a very realistic Australia Post scam email which even has a tracking number. Check the tracking number direct on the Australia Post site if you want to find out if the email is genuine.
