This driver got slammed with a $300 fine due to 'confusing' parking signs!

I don't think it's confusing either, although I cannot see part of the sign clearly. I would get out of the car and double-check closely. Also if you are familiar with the area, Sydney to Hobart is on 26 December and NYEs from 31 December to 1 January, so it seems like common sense to me.

Senior driver hit with mobile phone fine, reveals he never owned one

He may not have a mobile phone but there is another fine 'driving while distracted'. This could include drinking (I don't mean alcohol), eating, putting in a CD etc.

Find out the huge problem with Woolworths' new trolleys that's causing a stir among shoppers

Coles and Woolworths have trolley collectors for this, so returning to the bays should suffice. Returning them to the supermarket will put trolley collectors out of work. For someone with two or three kids to manage while shopping, this is an extra thing to do and then another trip back through...

‘Not complicated to use’: Shopper shares sentiments on self-service checkouts

I've swapped supermarkets for larger shops as my most local Coles is fully self-serve. Fruit and veggies annoy me no end, especially when you can't find a cob of corn under 'C' because it's under 'most popular', or Lebanese cucumber being under 'L' not 'C', which almost resulted in me paying $2...

Government plans to use NDIS purchasing power to help save billions – but they shouldn’t put products before people

The people deciding if someone should have access or not rarely have any medical knowledge or knowledge of disability and its impact on a person's life.

Government plans to use NDIS purchasing power to help save billions – but they shouldn’t put products before people

It is difficult to obtain NDIS funding with many hoops to be jumped and for it to be suggested it is easy is an insult to those who have gone through the process. Unfortunately the media jumps in with their unsubstantiated opinions to cause division.

Government plans to use NDIS purchasing power to help save billions – but they shouldn’t put products before people

Under the NDIS people do are not given the money directly, rather allocated funding under three main categories. I worked as a coordinator of supports from 2016 until recently, it was a bloody tough gig. I did not see one person who should not have been given funding, although clearly some...

Strange new security gates at Coles are creeping out shoppers: ‘What’s going on here?’

I don't agree with stealing. My point was aimed specifically at the two big supermarkets as it has been proven they were unnecessarily over-inflating prices, thus ripping off customers.

Strange new security gates at Coles are creeping out shoppers: ‘What’s going on here?’

Coles and Woolies have been underpaying farmers and even other food providers for years, while over charging customers and thus forcing up inflation; in other words 'stealing' and then complain when people steal from them. Drop the prices and bring back serviced checkouts and the rates of theft...

Strange new security gates at Coles are creeping out shoppers: ‘What’s going on here?’

Woolies at Erina Fair recently closed the serviced express checkouts.

Police arrest mum in her underwear over unpaid bill

I don't understand why she chose to fight about the arrest, and she also asked her daughter to grab her phone and film it. we are also only seeing the footage from when she asked her daughter to film, not what happened beforehand.

Coles, Woolworths, IGA and ALDI affirm stance on supermarket self-serve checkouts

Not a fan of self-serve, especially with fruit and veggies. My local Coled went fully self-serve on the 28 October last year. I now go to Harris Farm and Woolies to do the bulk of my shopping and as it turns out the fruit and veggies are better.

Federal Government agrees with Robodebt Commission recommendations—except for one

Robodebt was horrendous for so many people, and even when the powers that be were warned of legal implications, they ignored the advice. Even if people are sacked because of their involvement, they will just go onto high paid jobs in the private sector. Laughing all the way to the bank while...

Homebuyers beware! A couple lost $275,000 to an invoice scam after buying property

I have heard of this before when purchasing property and the scam emails are very convincing. Real Estates need to clearly outline the process of payment, and recommend that before transferring funds the person rings the real estate once they receive the email to double-check the details...
