Wish I could draw something that looks real like these. I am the oddball in the family because my sister was a professional artist as are her son and daughter. My brother is a very good amateur but I cannot draw anything that looks the way I want it to look. (Sad, sigh!}

It's not that hard, you would be surprised at what you can drew. I will sketch then rub out and sketch again and rub out

Just imagine the area below the lowest dark area what looks like it has waves, and then look at the lighter area below that, you should see concrete

Dear member Reet, thankyou for your post. I believe there is no right or wrong way to paint or draw. It's an expression of what you feel, what you think, what you like. Just look at some of Picasso's art. Most of them are abstract paintings. Some of the paintings look anazing and yet, others fall into the category of different, unique and interesting. It's all about your own preferences for colours, shapes, texture and design. All you need is paint, paint brush, canvas and a passion to be expressive. Who knows, your first painting may bring you unexpected great rewards. Have an enjoyable and pleasant weekend.

I had an art teacher in high school who told me I had “no creativity”. Sadly, I thought he was right so gave up on art.

But I wore a lot of makeup when I was young. I suppose that was my artistic creativity!

Dear DLHM, oh my goodness what a sad soul of a teacher that would have been. How dare the teacher say that you had no creativity. Shame on that teacher. Everyone is born with talent and ability to be creative. All you need is passion and willingness to take that first step. It's never too late. Also, can I say that drawing or painting in your own time at home, can be very relaxing almost like meditation. When you paint or draw, you block out everything else, and focus on your intentions to create a picture of your liking. Don't ever believe negative remarks or comments that could affect your confidence. If you want to draw or paint, then so be it, draw and paint to your heart's desire. Have a lovely evening.
