Chemist Warehouse co-founder Sam Gance and his partner, reality television star Janet Roach, spent a whopping $43 million for the two-storey residence at 47 Lansell Road, Toorak.

The couple seemed to have won against another bidder in a private auction to secure the grand mansion, which would look at home on the cover of any glossy luxury lifestyle magazine.

On Monday, the multi-millionaire couple bought the property from businessman Mark Healey, who founded British renewable energy infrastructure provider Blue Energy, and his Melburnian wife Kelly.

The Healeys bought it for $20 million off-market in 2015 and spent about $15 million upgrading it with Carr Design architects and Britain’s Helen Green Design Studio.

Premium agency Kay & Burton bestowed the sales honours and called the six-garage, two-level mansion “exquisitely crafted high-end luxury” in their advertisements.

Leading designer Paul Bangay designed the five-bedroom, four-bathroom, six-car grand estate that is set on 3,330 square metres at the Yarra River end of Lansell Road.

The whole property features ten opulent living areas, which include a showpiece palatial 77 square metre family area, a cinema room, entertainment rooms including a billiards room with a bar and an adjacent kitchen with a wood-fired pizza oven, built-in chicken rotisserie and teppanyaki grill. The adjoining service wing contains a laundry, powder, mudroom, and housekeeper’s room.

Two adjacent children’s playrooms are on the ground floor. Combined, these two are larger than many inner-city apartments.

It also has a home gym, scullery, and staff room. Outside, there are gardens designed by landscape architects, a pavilion, a lap pool, a massage room, and even a tennis court.

Sam and Janet have been an item since 2016 and will be sharing their home with two miniature terriers, Bella and Boychik.

OK, if they need that mansion and can afford to buy and maintain it then good luck to them. As for me, it's too big and who needs all that stuff, my simple life is far less stressful I recon......each to their own.

way too much responsibility, though they probably have a manager to oversee maintenance etc…
too much irrelevant stuff. But good luck to them,
mydream would be to have an art gallery in my home and a wall size aquarium for tropical fish. .
