I like to add new couch covers that changes a room straight away.

Find some pictures on line with colours to match the couch covers and print on sites like snapfish I will add later the other one I use , they regularly have 50 and 70 % off.
And move your furniture around.

If you own your place paint a feature wall abd add framed photos

Bunnings have small wooden crates that you assemble for $12.00 . I purchased one got a set of led lights from ALDI spot glued on then decorated with Xmas decorations, have filled with Presents for Daughters family. Once Xmas is finished make great organizers
