"The forgotten people"

( At 79 please excuse me if I drift from the truth a bit)

In 2012 the Tax threshold went from $6000 to $18200 (Was that for the GST)?At that time the SAPTO threshold was just over $32000, it did not move a cent! And it has stayed there ever since? ( Sapto, the amount we can earn from the money we already paid Tax on) We pay GST.
We constantly hear "More money for pensioners" Family Tax benefit ABCD? " More help with child care" ( Oh sorry we did get 50 cents a week child care)etc etc. But never do we hear about the plight of the Self Funded Retiree, and this can be a couple past pension age that have the old Family home rented out, worth a million dollars. Keeping it for the children. Not rich people but no pension because of Asset test. Rents go up every year, cost of food etc etc goes up, so why does the SAPTO amount NEVER CHANGE? It is not like WE are asking for a hand out, we just want to be treated like everyone else.
Are we the forgotten people? After all, by hard work Self Funded Retirees have saved the country billons of dollars. In the words of Professor Sumner Miller "Why is it so"? We cant even get a discount on Council Rates!
I keep telling Governments " YOU ARE REWARDING THE WRONG PEOPLE"
Am i not right?
I call for an Asset test on Politician's Pensions and INDEX on SAPTO
