Oops accidentally put the first one in twice
These are absolutely crazy! As someone who hasn't known the world before the 90s, I can't imagine living in a society where things like this are normal.

I’m from the 1940’s and it certainly wasn’t like that then, but I guess my parents and grandparents would have known about these rules.

I don't understand - were female teachers expected to stay spinsters for their entire lives?

I think a lot were spinsters. But even in the 30's & 40's there were pretty strict dress & behaviour rules for teachers. ;)

I can recall two of my teachers in the early 50’s who were spinsters.

As is only right and proper.... nowadays too many teachers become activists rather than teachers!

As one who once had a verbal er "discussion" with one of my grand daughters teachers over the stolen generations furore, regarding inappropriate teaching to primary school children, I rest my case...
Do German primary teachers beat up their pupils about the horrors of the holocaust?
Do England's primary teachers browbeat their pupils about the atrocities committed by their forebears during the crusades?
The list goes on, so why do our teachers lay guilt trips on a new generation who had nothing to do with what happened a century ago?
