- Replies 1
Nothing says “Rise and shine!” quite like a fresh homemade batch of pancakes for breakfast. Imagine, a plateful of fluffy pancakes greeting you in the morning as you start your day. Yum!
Check out this recipe from Bec Hardgrave, a fitness coach from Brisbane who has been sharing several of her healthy fakeaway recipes online, such as this 6-ingredient recipe for homemade pizza.
She’s here with us again to show us how to make high-protein pancakes. Of course, not without an added Caramilk-y twist!

- 30 grams of oats, blended into flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 2 egg whites, whipped
- ½ Cadbury Caramilk Flake
- 60 grams of Vanilla Yopro yoghurt
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 drops liquid sweetener
- Natvia no added sugar salted caramel sauce
And here’s how she did it:
First, blend together around 30 grams of oats until it turns into fine flour. Then in a bowl, add the powdered oats and mix with 60 grams of vanilla Yopro yoghurt and half a teaspoon of baking powder. Mix lightly.
Then add one whole egg yolk and two egg whites (whipped already) to the powder mixture, and follow with two drops of liquid sweetener. Mix the batter together until it achieves a smooth consistency.
In a medium-hot pan, take a spoonful of the batter and spread it flat on the surface. Repeat until most of the pan’s surface area is covered.
You know the pancakes are ready to flip when solid edges start to form and you begin to see air bubbles on the top side of your pancakes. Slide a thin spatula under your pancake and see if it’s already a medium golden-brown colour.
Flip the pancakes on both sides before stacking them on a plate. For the sauce, drizzle some no-added-sugar salted caramel sauce on top and follow with a half packet of Cadbury Caramilk Flake.
Then serve and enjoy!
Bec’s simple pancake recipe contains 22.4 grams of protein and has only 315 calories. It also doesn’t use any banana, protein powder, or any commercial pancake mix, which makes it a hit among those who are watching their food intake.
“These are so fluffy and incredible, I cannot believe how well they turned out,” she said.
