When ‘saving a spot’ goes too far: Driver accused of ‘super rude’ act at local shopping centre

I agree, is it the car that is hard to drive or the driver that can't drive. I did tell one they needed to take their car back to the dealer immediately and get a refund, then return their licence for a refund. The question was asked, "why, what's wrong with the car". My comment went straight...

Are supermarkets charging too much? New rules could change that

I buy finish tablets, they were in boxes of 120, then dropped to 110, then 100 and now written across the top on red is"Big value pack of 86". The price hasn't dropped it has gone up from $18 to $25. Tell me it's not price gouging.

‘Unpopular and unfair’: Aussies hit with massive 40 per cent rate hike

I am glad that I live where I am. Our rates go up the bare minimum each year. It sounds like the council has totally mismanaged their funds for years to have the problem stated. We have good roads, a great library, a council run child care, and the council manage a community chest to help...

South Gippsland finds its own solutions to public transport 'deserts'

The suggestion of moving is not practical, most smaller towns homes would not sell for anywhere near enough to buy in a larger town. Eg $450,000 here, in Wagga the cheapest would be $600,000. If you could get it that cheap. Most areas in Australia would be the same sort of difference.

Could slower streets save lives? The push for 30km/h zones gains momentum

Where is this taking us in reality. We live in a small country town, the nearest decent doctors shopping centre etc are 40 ks away. This can take 45 minutes in a 100 zone as there are some oldies who don't feel safe driving at 100 and want to do 60-70, this can be a hindrance to the rest of us...

Grey nomads beware: Police cracking down on overweight caravans with hefty fines

We used to caravan around Australia regularly. Our afternoon was spent laughing at the way some didn't have a clue on how to back a van. One chap got annoyed at us and handed hubby his keys and said " you find it funny, do better" hubby straightened up the van and put it in first go. The way...

Calls for Australia to follow England's ban on supermarket junk food specials

I call bs on fast food being cheaper. It cost hubby and I $28 for a hamburger each and 1 coffee and 1 soft drink at hungry Jack's.p Coffee is only $5 and a sandwich at Wendy's is $6 and much more enjoyable, and tastier. The hungry Jack meal was almost cold and smothered in mayionase, even...

Calls for Australia to follow England's ban on supermarket junk food specials

We spent $28 in Hungry Jack's out of desperation one Sat afternoon (one hamburger each and 1coffee 1 soft drink,)we couldn't find an open cafes in Shepparton. The food was luke warm bordering on cold and tasteless. We tried MacDonald's several months ago in Fyshwick as there was nothing else...

No driveway? This simple fix could let you charge your car at home anyway

The last 3 homes I've had in over 35 years have had no overhead power lines. How would this idea work with underground power. Pretty normal in suburban Sydney to have underground, and likewise here in a small country town in the Riverina.

Fine line emerges between security and overreach as customers question banking tactics

My bank identifies me every time I go to a different branch, but at my local branch they know me by name. I don't get intrusive questions asked of me, just friendly helpful service, but then again I don't bank with one of the "big4"

Nearly 9,000 Australians affected as Telstra downgrades internet without notice

I presume you mean the Jewish people. I thought this was a free country and we could say what we felt. The Jews control most western governments because of their money.

My doctor told me, that if I know I have forgotten something then I haven't got dementia. I hope he is right, as I forget lots of things, but als9 know I have forgotten them.
