Ticketing platform data breach exposes millions as cyber threats intensify in Australia

Just don't respond to emails, texts, etc, the same as you always should be doing. Any of these hacks should not be of concern if you practice sound online behaviours. Everyone needs to be vigilant.

Insurance company IAG gets massive class action lawsuit for algorithm-based increase

This has been going on for decades, don't people shop around for insurance? There is no loyalty with insurance companies, staying with the same one for years means nothing, you will still get paid or not get paid on a claim exactly the same. I ALWAYS shop around each year, prices range...

'What's the deal?': Ruffled tradie questions hardware store’s pet policy

Responsible adults and pet owners should know their dogs social abilities and if they are reactive to others do not take them into the store. No different to taking them to say a dog park.

Good on you. Some people just have no tolerance at all, like some on this page.

Wow, you are a grumpy old man. No tolerance at all. I love seeing the dogs in store, say hello, a pat, good for your mind.

Absolutely it's fair, if I was a staff member I wouldn't want to challenge a thief, and I don't expect anyone anywhere to do so. Get yourself stabbed, in the US you get shot.

Alert to Aussie drivers: Is increased roadside surveillance putting your privacy at risk?

Speak for yourself and your poor driving skills, they do not distract competent drivers. Phone use is rampant, anything to deter drivers using phones while driving is excellent. Mobile phone use and crashes are well under-reported, unless it's a death or critical collision police do not...

ALDI shopper notices $20.60 charge on receipt: ‘I don’t really know what I’ve paid for’

Maybe where you shop, I know my Woolworths and Coles are far busier through the self serves, often lined up even though there's over a dozen self serve checkouts.

Alert to Aussie drivers: Is increased roadside surveillance putting your privacy at risk?

These have been in use in NSW since March 2020, that's fours years and she's talking about them as if they were new, lol. You are in a vehicle on public roads, NOT in your bedroom, expect that others can see into the vehicle. Bus drivers, truck drivers are high up in their seats, they can see...

ALDI shopper notices $20.60 charge on receipt: ‘I don’t really know what I’ve paid for’

No one is stopping you, and no onevwill stop you. Only paranoid, delusional people "think" their freedumb is being taken away. Cash isn't going away.

ALDI shopper notices $20.60 charge on receipt: ‘I don’t really know what I’ve paid for’

Maybe to let others know, many don't check receipts.

ALDI shopper notices $20.60 charge on receipt: ‘I don’t really know what I’ve paid for’

ALWAYS check receipts, too easy for the checkout person to input the wrong information. happened to me a couple of times years ago, instead of 2 items she accidentally hit 22, makes a big difference and a quick scan of the receipt shows the odd large amounts, that's what I look for.

Another good reason to self serve, YOU can keep track of the amounts better and no accidentally hitting the wrong button.
