Video Course: Spotting Scams: Why You Shouldn’t Trust Coupon65 (Part 6)

Conclusion

As many of you already know, Coupon65 has been mistaken for us in the past, and they continue to target Australian seniors. We've put together an informative six-part video course on how to spot scams, using Coupon65 as an example.

We sincerely hope this helps you stay safe and avoid any unpleasant interactions with scammers.

Missed part five? Watch it here.

After watching the video, test your knowledge below.

Question 1:
If you’re not sure whether something is a scam, you can ask:
- On the SDC Scam Watch forum
- By emailing [email protected]
- Conducting your own research
- All of the above

Question 2:
Do you feel more confident identifying scams such as Coupon65?
- Yes
- No

Summary

So, what did we learn to look out for today on scam websites?

1. Incorrect Spelling and Grammar

2. Always check the website reviews on social media pages or trusted review pages like Trust pilot

3. Do your own research. Can you find out any more information about the business that owns the website?

4. Make sure the offer that was originally promised to you is the same offer reflected in the checkout.

5. Make sure whatever is in your online cart is what YOU added to it.

6. And finally, always check what currency you will be charged in.

Question 1: All of the above options are good ideas.

Members, this was the final video. How did you find the course? As I said at the start of this course, this is our first time making something like this so we'd love to hear your feedback. Are there other topics you would like us to cover?

Lots to look at here but really well presented and gives lots to take on board. This is great to help with knowing what to look for. Thanks.
