Reminiscing on youth

G'day, members! How is your Tuesday coming along? Are you also in the mood for a snack and a warm cuppa? I wouldn't blame you since I think that's an excellent way of spending the afternoon, especially if you pair it with a fun catch-up with a friend. A question that's running on my mind lately is this: if you could go back to a certain age to reminisce a moment, what age would that be? Mine would probably be at 11 years old and in fifth grade (when I first snuck out to a friend's house to watch movies and play video games 😂 ) What about you? We’d love to see your answers.

The first time I won a contest in the daily paper and the tickets were delivered to me I was in my pool when the lady arrived my dad had no idea whom she was

I would go back to 16 that was an amazing age.
I was so carefree and did what I wanted.

Friday and Saturday nights were spent dancing the night away at The Persian room and crystal Palace Kingscross. Wearing my Stagger jeans or brown satin pants and always a boob tube and stiletto shoes

Dancing to songs like Do The Bus stop, Young hearts run free, Do the Hustle

I enjoyed reminiscing today with my son about the changes in music over the years. In particular, ‘Sound of Silence’ by Simon and Garfunkel (which was one of my favourite songs, pre teens) and the Cover more recently by Disturbed, which is awesome. And the first love of my life…Russell Morris ‘Wings of an Eagle’ when I was about 14. Also the song ‘One’ by Metallica was topical…important but sad. It lead to discussion about the 60s and 70s and how parents were horrified about the change in music and boys having long hair (Cream, CCR, Steppenwolf, Alice Cooper etc)…LOL it was the devil’s work or something like that! Oh I loved the music of the 60s and 70s.
