The Kmart Glass Flip Pickle Jar is making a comeback and is set to arrive in stores and online starting mid-November!
Not only is it a great bargain at just $10, but this much-sought-after kitchen appliance also solves a problem you didn't even know you had: how to keep pickles, olives and tinned fruit cucumbers fresh without having the liquid spill everywhere.
That's probably why this product had such a great reception on social media. People praised it and used it to store everything from pineapple rings to various pickled produce.
Shoppers who bought this item left positive reviews on the retailer's website.
One customer wrote: ‘I wanted to see what all the hype was about after seeing on Facebook. I now have two and intend on getting more. So far, I’m storing jalapeños and beetroot. Note to self: make sure the lid is on tight before turning it upside down in the fridge.’
‘Every bit as good as the more expensive ones,’ another said.
‘Love these jars for their purpose. I use [it] for olives, pickles, beetroot, pineapple, etc.,’ a third customer commented.

‘Actually, I think it's a good idea. I eat olives and other things in a jar with liquid it's always messy trying to get a few out [...] to turn [the] jar upside down to drain the liquid to get out what you want without the liquid mess, and then turn it back over. I think [it’s] a great idea.’
‘Went to Kmart and bought one, what a great idea. No more dipping my fingers in the juice to get the pickle,’ member @Shane/# stated.
Unfortunately, some shoppers excited about the product were out of luck, as the item was sold out at Kmart. But next month, it will be back.
A Kmart spokesperson shared: ‘The Kmart Glass Flip Pickle Jar has been very popular within our community, and we love the many ways customers use it to store everything from pickles to olives to tinned fruit.’
‘[It] will be back in stock both online and in-store from mid-November,’ they added.
However, while some were lucky enough to score it at their local Kmart, others were less impressed with the product. Some complained it leaked too badly and didn't do what it was meant to.
One reviewer on the website said: ‘Used for my pickles, but it keeps leaking. It's missing the bit to seal it. But I'm still loving it, other than the leak.’
‘I bought four of these really hoping they’d be as great as they say they are. Two [of them] leak, and the other two [jars] are temperamental,’ another wrote.

‘Pickle liquid or the liquid from olives, feta cheese, etc., can go towards making a great vinaigrette or other type of salad dressing as it gives you the acid component of your dressing. You can make some yummy dressings with different liquids,’ member @Granny*Deb recommended.
‘I love pickled onions. Particularly the cocktail ones and often save that juice for dressings,’ member @maxesmum shared.
