Fact of the Day: Shopping trolleys were not popular… at first​

Men thought it made them look weak. Women said it reminded them of a baby carriage.

But inventor Sylvan Goldman had a plan: he hired attractive models to casually wheel the carts around stores. It worked. Soon, everyone was pushing his 'basket carriage for self-service stores' — and Goldman rolled all the way to multimillionaire status.

and our Woolies store is still using the original models.....their wheels all lock up and you have to push your guts out to steer them in the direction that you want to go.....time to buy some new models Woolies.
