Discover Australia's top makeup and skincare products: Winners of Priceline Health and Beauty Awards

Members, if there’s one thing we love here at the SDC, it’s discovering the best products–particularly the ones relating to health and beauty.

It’s all to ensure you stay looking and feeling your absolute best. Sometimes it can be challenging to pinpoint what those very best products are. Thankfully, health and beauty retailer Priceline has stepped in to help!

They recently marked the culmination of their Health and Beauty Awards, in which 30,000 Aussie shoppers cast over half a million votes for their favourite wellness, health and beauty products from Priceline.

The result was that 20 products were named the best of the best across a range of categories, including everything from face moisturiser to sunscreen to even a 'most iconic' buy.

With the awards now complete, let’s look at the titular products that emerged triumphant!

1. MOST ICONIC: LUCAS' PAWPAW OINTMENT WITH LIP APPLICATOR

Of all the products up for the title 'most iconic', Lucas' Pawpaw Ointment took the crown–no surprise given its lengthy reputation for being a staple in Aussie ladies' handbags!

Composed of an effective formula that has remained unchanged since it first hit store shelves more than a century ago, one tube of the versatile ointment is sold every two minutes at Priceline.

How is it so popular? It delivers many topical uses, including relief from skin conditions such as eczema, sports injuries like chafing, insect bites, and dry skin. Plus, it’s only $5.19 per tube.

2. BEST CLEANSER: CERAVE HYDRATING CLEANSER

Another deserving winner is CeraVe's Hydrating Cleanser, currently listed at $14.99.

This cleanser is developed with dermatologists and designed to effectively cleanse your skin, removing dirt, makeup, or sunscreen like a dream.

The bonus with this non-greasy cleanser is that it won’t strip away your skin’s protective barrier of oils, leaving you with a tight feeling. Instead, the presence of hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acids and ceramides results in a product that feels light on the skin yet still helps to keep it hydrated all day. Plus, it's suitable for all skin types.

3. BEST FACE MOISTURISER: THE ORDINARY NATURAL MOISTURIZING FACTORS + HA

Following on, we come to The Ordinary's Natural Moisturising Factors + HA Cream, which members can pick up for only $10.20.

The cream is a must-have in any skincare regime as it works to lock in hydration and target dryness. It contains a range of natural ingredients sourced directly from the skin, like amino acids, fatty acids, ceramides, glycerine, and hyaluronic acid–and you only need a few drops for the desired effect. It is also designed for all skin types.

Treat yourself to this cream today, and you'll quickly fall in love with the smooth matte finish, and light feel it leaves on your skin–you won't want to return to your old moisturiser!

4. BEST FOUNDATION AND TINT: L'OREAL PARIS TRUE MATCH NUDE PLUMPING TINTED SERUM

Next on the list is the Foundation and Tint from L'Oreal Paris.

This item is an anomaly because it blends makeup and skincare into one product, essentially serving as an all-in-one and usually costing $44.99.

At the time of writing, Priceline Pharmacy has it marked down to half price for just $22.49—grab it while you can!

The serum is light and non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog or block your pores. It melts into whatever your natural skin tone may be, so it can not only help hide blemishes or problems but also illuminate and plump your skin with daily use.

5. BEST SUNSCREEN: LA ROCHE-POSAY ANTHELIOS INVISIBLE FLUID SPF 50+

Sunscreen is indispensable in shielding skin from the harsh Australian sun, even during the winter months, prompting Australians to constantly seek the finest available formula.

According to Priceline shoppers, La Roche-Posay's SPF 50+ sunscreen, which retails for $35.99, is their preferred choice due to its exceptional protection against UV rays and compatibility with makeup applications.

The fragrance-free, non-greasy, and lightweight composition ensures a comfortable application without burdening the skin, making it especially suitable for individuals with sensitivities.

Moreover, its semi-matte finish imparts a lovely glow to the skin without any greasy residue or undesirable white cast, resulting in a seamless and radiant appearance when used as a base under makeup.

Lucas's pawpaw ointment is the best imo. I've tried the QV Ceramide moisturiser as a sample, and it was good.

Blimey I’m boring again I just use plain old sorbelene cream all over myself face and all. Apparantely it’s the base of a lot of skincare products.😁

Nothing wrong with sorbolene.
It’s good my ex hubbie got me onto to it years ago. I was wasting money on expensive stuff and he used it on his psoriasis.and no smell I hate stinky stuff.😁
