'I feel so special!': Is this state keeping a secret treat for themselves?

With the exception of Cripps shortbread and double choc Tim Tams I find most bought biscuits are rather ordinary, they all taste similar, and so different from my childhood favourites, so I no longer buy them. I almost forgot, I love Byron Bay Dotty’s.

Pauline Hanson’s Please Explain hits the big screen—why everyone will be talking about it this Australia Day

Don’t we have enough truly ridiculous movies around already? I won’t be watching, I really can’t stand her voice, so I don’t ever listen to her.

Lessons from loss: Inside Australia’s push to stop crypto ATM scams

I feel for people who end up being scammed but really, we all should know by now not to engage with people who blast warnings and alerts on our computers without independently making phone calls with numbers we ourselves found! Surely being instructed to withdraw money, and give an excuse to the...

Older people risk losing some at-home services despite 'no worse off' promise

Why are Providers fees rising so much? One of my friends had a level 4 package and I was totally horrified by the charges that were billed against her, $100 for a visit from a nurse. I bet the poor nurses would’ve loved that much money for 30 minutes work. Fortunately, my dear friend was...

Would you pay $25 for a block of chocolate? This premium treat has everyone talking

I stock up when chocolate is on special, and usually have enough to keep me going, that’s if other people stay away from my stash. Ted does contribute when my favourites are on special, so I shouldn’t complain.

‘Give me the keys’: The moment one grandmother’s courage stopped a break-in cold

What an extraordinarily brave lady. Thank goodness neither she or her daughter were hurt, though I’m sure it will take some time to cope with the mental trauma.

You can be fined $166 just for sitting THIS way in your car! One driver learned the hard way

Thanks Greg. I’m stunned to still observe drivers with the elbow resting on the door, and poor dogs with heads stuck out of an open window.

Stores are testing a new way to stop thieves—and it’s not what you’d expect

I hope my local supermarkets do this. I’m a big Pavarotti fan, and do enjoy classical music. I might never want to leave. 😂

You can be fined $166 just for sitting THIS way in your car! One driver learned the hard way

I know Greg, and I do often check out for new rules that may have happened. Just feeling lazy today.

Did Prince William really threaten to strip Beatrice and Eugenie’s titles? Kensington speaks out

I wish that Prince Andrew would just quietly disappear, I’m over seeing stories about him, after all he’s a walking disaster. I don’t believe for a minute that William would threaten to remove his cousin’s titles.

You can be fined $166 just for sitting THIS way in your car! One driver learned the hard way

So what is Tasmania’s fine Greg, save me searching for it, not that I drive around with my arms out the window.

You can be fined $166 just for sitting THIS way in your car! One driver learned the hard way

I’m beginning to think that all of our laws are top secret that only certain people know. I’ve always known about the protruding limbs law, but don’t know what the fine is, obviously a top secret.

What happens if you don’t vote? Here's a $241 costly reminder

Voting can be painful, especially given the choice of candidates, but then I remember all of the brave Suffragettes who fought so hard for the right of women to vote, so off I go to try and cast a responsible vote. If you don’t vote, then you don’t have the right to complain about whoever wins.

What happens if you don’t vote? Here's a $241 costly reminder

I’m beginning to wonder if it’s a good thing that we’re always forgotten, no one knows that we’re here, so we should be able to avoid all the problems in the world. However I think it’s a $20 fine for not voting. Please don’t forget us SDC Admin staff, we can get a bit upset at being forgotten...

An Aussie senator takes medical leave until 2026 for surgery. What happened?

Over the years that Jackie has been in parliament, I’ve sometimes cringed at her behaviour, but I do know from speaking with people who live along the NW coast of Tasmania, that she fights really hard for them. Hope your recovery goes well Jackie, and that you’ll back again next year.
